I love All-Metal. Feathers great, tough as nails, impervious to water, and never shrinks, cracks or gets pinholes. It's expensive and a bear to sand, though.
I used it to fill in all my seams 30 years ago and it still looks great. The Monte looks much sleeker that way. The downside is I can't take the body apart without breaking it.
That is a great looking 73, very clean/straight without all the body seams showing.
My roof to quarter panel seam also got filled with All-Metal, good stuff.

Thanks! I just wanted to show what you can do with that stuff, but that was the closest shot I had where you could see the seams were filled.

Still waiting on paint, one thing after another delays the project. Rebuilt the front suspension with Global West delrin lower bushings and adjustable upper arms, also with delrin bushings. Bilstein AK1053 shocks along with the Moog 750lb front springs. The Monroe Severe Service 9C1 Caprice shocks I first installed were junk after 2k miles.

Off subject..found a few pics of my Moms 73. She got hit in the winter of 75.
My father did not like the quality of the repairs to the Monte and finished it off in the summer of 76. My mother was so pissed at him she went and bought a 76 black FORD Elite.

I'll be interested to hear how the delrin bushings perform. I considered those but worried they might make the ride too harsh, so I stuck with poly.

What did your dad do? Is that the vinyl top on the trunk? Is that rust around the window? If so, there is that much rust on a 3 yr old car??

I will let you know. I don't think it will be bad because there is now no binding in the suspension, it is very smooth,
I might hear a little more road noise but I expect that since I also swapped all the body mounts to poly.

I know around the rear window looks like rust, but I think its melted vinyl top. It was almost 4 years old and a Chicago daily car. He pulled off the Vette rallys and put the original wheels on it, then in a Jewel parking lot he put a flare in it.
The story goes that he was not happy with the insurance company how the car was fixed so he totaled it for a payout.
Neither one is alive, my mother told me over 25 years ago and never mentioned it again.

I used rollers and pins from a 3rd/4th gen Camaro to replace the worn roller on both my door hinges. Rollers are a little taller and pins the same longer.

Did the pin come with the roller?
Can you list part number for pin if it did not come as a set please?

CopperMonte,
When fitting the LS engine, why was the engine cross member modified? What was in the way, alternator? Just curious. I've been tossing around an LS swap myself.
Thanks,
Dave W.

Yes, looks like it was notched to fit the f-body alternator placement, with a truck or vette accessory drive that wont be necessary

Pin and roller are separate, pin is gm #20262500 and roller is #20058035.

I went a little crazy with the plasma cutter and thought the ac compressor was going down low along with the alternator.
My friend had to repair it once we put the motor as far back as possible.
Once you drive an LS car you don't go back. 20+ mpg, 350+hp and very reliable, a no brainer for me.

Some paint went on last night. Eventually settled on a 2004 color.

All seam sealer was replaced with Lord Fusor 129, awesome stuff. The top of the cowl was painted with John Deere Blitz black over epoxy.

77mali, I used Lord Fusor 129 everywhere on the Monte, top of the cowl(pictured above) doors, trunk lid, tail panel, etc. It flows out nice, but work time is 4-5 min. Designed to fill roof channels on cars where all the sheetmetal overlaps. Youtube Fusor 129 for a video.
