body mounts for 73 chevelle??
Hi everyone!
I would like to know if anyone has any recent info about the body mount bushings for a 73 chevelle
-i'm not shure but is it possible that the core support and the 4 front body ones are the same?
I took a parts car off it's frame and my car, and i've had for the most 2 1/2''outside diam.(yellow, gold/orange,black, blue/yellow) ...2 3/4'' O/D, (blue),...2 5/8'' O/D,(orange), and 2 3/8 for the rear ones (white) they are all the same height.
I kind of mixed them up in the process thinking that anyway i would change them so a new kit would solve my problem, but what i have read on the net seems a little confusing to me??
I have the 1973 chevrolet service manual, but the diam. is not listed??
Not even a picture or diagram of the core support!!
So if anybody outhere has any precise info in the subject i would apreciate.
Thanks guys! Bob.
p.s : by the way i'm new to the site so here's a few pic's of my project... (canadian rust bucket )
when i got it about 5 years ago.
Doesin't look good hey!
put in a little work......
that's a bit better.
helping support from the 2'nd floor of my garage!
work in progress...

Re: body mounts for 73 chevelle??
Gotta love the determination and ingenuity of members here!
I will look in my Fischer body manual to see if mentioned re: the body mounts. That's where the info should be versus the service manual.
The core supports are definitely a unique item, most body kits don't include them but there are aftermarket ones avail @ the parts place website for around $25.00 with new hardware.

Re: body mounts for 73 chevelle??
Well...much to my surprise my 77 Body manual only references F, H, K and X body in the "under body-alignment section", sorry. That's very strange as the manual is supposed to include A & B body info...what a rip!

Re: body mounts for 73 chevelle??
I'm going to have to pick up a set as well. Whats up with the colors? Yours were colored?? I believe a set from a 70 chevelle CONVERTIBLE would be the set to get because it gives you the extra ones for the core support.
BTW, are those 73 Laguna tail lights with the chrome bezels??

Re: body mounts for '73 chevelle
Here's an illustration for '77 "A" bodies. "Cushion" colors are Yellow, Pink, Black, Beige and Orange. No White or Blue. Also, no specifics on the radiator support bushings. Don't know if this is of any help, but maybe fellow '77 owners might be able to use the info.

Re: body mounts for 73 chevelle??
I bought my body mounts & core support mounts from The Parts Place, the stock type, for my '75 Elco I'm not a fan of poly body mounts.
My '77 Elco/GMC Sprint service manual gives all the frame dimensions for the Elco, the Chevelles, 2 & 4-door, and the Monte Carlo, and the body mounts for those models also.
Just diagrams of course, no part numbers etc.
This manual even has Corvette info for the same thing. Kinda unusual for all this stuff in a Sprint/El Camino manual

Re: body mounts for 73 chevelle??
My radiator core support bushings are blue...I saved the old ones there's a part # on them too. Will edit the # in here when I can find them. The blue is just a painted "line" or marking to indicate where they go during assembly for easy ID on the line at Fischer (RIP).

Re: body mounts for 73 chevelle??
Here are the numbers that i took off the bushings:
NOTE : the dimensions i took are off the used bushings that i've got, so the accuracy may not be perfect.
white:330992 o/d = 2 3/8''
blue:330952 o/d = 2 3/4''
blue and yellow: b:330944/y:330942 o/d = 2 1/2''
orange:330951 o/d = 2 5/8 (this one is marked orange only, the diam. is bigger than the next one on the list aldough they have the same number??).
gold and orange: g:339748 / o:330951 o/d = 2 1/2''
black:6271662 o/d = 2 1/2''
I've checked with the list of numbers given at the parts place and some don't match!!(:330955 and 377801)
Thats why i wanted to know if any of you outhere had bought some and could confirm if the kit is a perfect fit or not.
Even dough the core bush. are not included.
As for the 70 chevelle convertable, are they the right fit from front to back ? or did you just hear about it??
I really dont want to go just about with it.
Thanks guys.

Wow...the 73 service manual sure is sweet. Great pics too!
I'd better look in mine again, maybe I missed it.
+1 :-)
