Nice job. Where did you get that patch panel or who made it I know lots of guys who would buy those.

Got lucky on the donor car for my top. They were perfect so I cut them out too. They fit up super nice.

Ok, I see. Boy just think if someone would just reproduce that piece.

Re: My '73 build long project
Few update pics. Starting to work my panels in and get some shape. Lots of welding, grinding, shaping and repeat. Some detail work left then quarters next on the list

Re: My '73 build long project
Not much for big update pics. Been doing small stuff and also doing some side gigs for extra money. Did find this buried behind the dash tonight. It is in perfect shape. I am super excited. Photobucket cuts off the bottom of the pics. Total cost was $5,297.20

Re: My '73 build long project
Wow, they're in great shape too...I'm still holding out hope for mine under the tank. 1st I've seen of someone finding all that under the dash. Congrats!

Also found the owners manual, service manual for all fluids and a pamphlet for the emissions stuff explaining all of it. Perfect shape, all looked brand new.

Re: My '73 build long project
Spotted 3 '73s in pull a part in Nashville the other day. Scored a few good parts. Biggest score is an almost perfect dash. No idea how that one survived since the car was cut up pretty good. Found a perfect front bumper with no dents and a good sheet metal piece between the trunk and rear glass. Already have it welded in.

That's what I call a GOOD DAY! Nice score on the dash.

Re: My '73 build long project
I'll say pretty sweet. Are you going to lead that joint on the rear deck panel? Nice work.

Re: My '73 build long project
Yeah. All joints will be filled and smoothed. Been looking for 3 years for a dash. You guys know how hard those are to find. Super happy. Been soaking it with saddle soap every night to soften it up. Will dye it black

Re: My '73 build long project
Great find on the dash, and all that paper work too !!
Maybe that car the dash came from was in a garage for most of it's life, and not sitting in the sun etc.

Re: My '73 build long project
Well. Long overdue updates. Been one of the wildest summers ever with life but all for the positive. Weather cooling off again so back in the garage almost every night. One quarter complete. Fabbed inner fender lips. Never could find any so I made mine plus I am rolling the quarters so it isn't a big deal. Used POR15 on the insides so I should be good to go. One quarter left then the body is coming off. Been studying and measuring for a while on the rear. Updating it all and gonna fit a 335 under it so prob some minitub work. Gonna do a new rear set up for coil overs or air bags depending on what I want. Good winter cold weather project.

Re: My '73 build long project
Missed they above post, I'm in Kentucky. Few new pics. Doing some rough in bodywork with Z glass. Should have the body off in another month so I can start the frame. Found a nova 12 bolt in our stash so it will be my donor to build and is 2" Shorter which is great
Looks like a huge amount of Z glass but most of it winds up on the floor

Re: My '73 build long project
How tall are you going with the tire, and how low are you going with the bags? I'm planning on a 335/30/18 on my wagon and it looks like it "should" fit even though it's lowered about 3-1/2".

Re: My '73 build long project
I am wanting to put the same size tire in mine. I have measured too and just not sure. I have a friend with one of those tools that sets back spacing, height, width etc. I am going to borrow it to see where I am at currently and what I will have to do. I am good with ride height current but want the ability to lay it prob the 3-4 inch range too. I will keep you posted. I am going to do a 4 link setup. The nova rear end helps me gain a few inches for back spacing and clearance.

Re: My '73 build long project
I'm going to have to toss the 10 bolt regardless, so I'm just going to have my 9" cut 4" narrower to get that nice deep lip in the rear. I'm shooting for a 6" lip and a 12" rim back there.

Re: My '73 build long project
I was thinking a 13 rim but just have to see how it plays. I'll keep posting as I start getting measurements and numbers. I have it laid out on cad but not sure actual vs paper.

Re: My '73 build long project
335 is only 13.2" or so. The tires I've looked at have an inset bead so you may get that tuner "stretch" look with a 13" wide rim. I don't know for sure though. I'm in the same position you are.

Re: My '73 build long project
My viper tire is 335 35 18 on a 13" wide ccw wheel. That is the width I want. Not sure of backpacking etc yet.
