Few new pics...started sanding and buffing. Coming no around and starting to take shape. Hopefully done by end of week. Can't wait to get it out in the sun.

I like the stripes a lot. I wonder how they would look on an el Camino.

Are those stripes at factory dimensions? They look much wider than stock. I like them with that color combo. Makes the stripes stand out more with those colors.

Factory dimensions. I took pics of everything holding a tape measure up to it before cutting. Then also kept old panels to verify when we laid it out.

Think it is just the camera angle how I was at it.

I think it's the.camera angle as well. Again, awesome job and that color combo is awesome. What brand paint did you use?

Nason paint and their high end clear which gives way more depth. Clear was $220 gallon compared to their $100 regular.

Cool. I'm using all Southern Polyurethane products except my base coat which is Pro-spray.
I went with southern polyurethane because of their quality and its been used on barrett jackson cars and at pebble beach. Its crystal clear. $113 a gallon plus $37 for the activator. Awesome products from them.

Few pics after I have it home. Color looks different in the sun compared to shadows. Turned out nice and bodywork is really good. I nitpicked it pretty hard but it is what I do everyday so I spot things easy and knew it would bother me. He had trouble seeing a few things I was pointing out to him. Lol.

Hood is next. Going 'glass so we will fit the hood to the car.

Looks AWESOME. Love the.color. I had to fit the hood to the car.as well. I widened the.hood on each side and an eight inch just behind the head lights. Evercoat ever glass works excellent for fitting the.hood.

Thanks. Thought the same thing. Way easier to build or skim on the hood than change fender. Lol. Who did you get your hood from?

Mine is from fibermotive. Bought it back in the mid 80's. They're out of business now.
Cool trick for closing the gaps between the hood and fenders. Close the hood. Get some cardboard, both the corrugated type and some of the ceral box type. Grab some wax paper. Cut the cardboard into 3" wide stripes and as long as you can. Put some wax paper on the front of the cardboard, tape it on or whatever. Slip it in the gap between the hood and fender. Add more cardboard behind the first piece that has the wax paper on it. Put enough cardboard behind all along til you get the gap you like. When done, mix up some everglass and push it between the hood and wax paper. Everglass is short strand and does not run. Put it in the gap, squeegee off the excess and let dry. Few minutes later, open the hood, remove the cardboard, close the hood, perfect gap. Now sand it smooth. Real quick and easy.
