Swapping rear Wheel studs to 1/2"
I'm doing a WilWood break upgrade all around with disk breaks, it requires 1/2" wheel studs to be installed in rear axle. Has anyone done this and can you give me any pointers.
I'm running a 73 Pontiac Lemans rear end with stock axles and 373 gears now.

This may not be what you want but what about upgrading to a set of Moser stock length axles with the studs in already. I had them in my Nova with the 12 bolt.

I don't know if they will work I have a large bearing on mine as its a Pontiac rear end. I found that out when replacing a bearing.
What the asking price for the axles? I just went through the whole rear end last fall with new gears set up.

I planned on using the 30 spline when I do my rear end.

What are you looking to get for them?

I'm sorry, I misunderstood. They are not mine I was making a suggestion for you. I had a set in my nova and plan on buying a set of them for the malibu.

Re: Swapping rear Wheel studs to 1/2"
We used to upgrade to 1/2" studs on oval cars in the '80s. No exact science. We went to auto parts store, looked through Dorman cabinet for wheel studs. If I remember correctly, we used Lincoln or T-Bird studs because they had a large knurled shank and the end of the stud had a 1/4" leader before threads began. Redrilled axle and drum to clear bigger studs. We ran steel wheels so not sure what you do for trick aluminum wheels. Here is a picture of the stud, not recommending this specific stud.
