Re: Hawk03 Redo
77 shows two "Reds" & "Firethorn Iridescent". I think it's "Buccaneer Red" -code 75 in the pic.

Re: Hawk03 Redo
There it goes...
..to have the new exhaust and cross member installed.
I also created new clear plastic for the gauge bezel. I tried cleaning up the old one but it wasn't getting as clean as I would have like so I decied it was easier and faster to just make new ones. I don't need any plastic on the right side since I have after market gauges that already have plastic covers.

Re: Hawk03 Redo
Thanks guys! The short time I drove it it was a lot of fun to drive (about 20 miles). The thermostat needs replacing and then I will be able to drive it more.
This video has a better sound for the exhaust.

I knew I wouldn't be good at completing the body work so I outsourced it. Hopefully it will be done by the end of next month.

Re: Hawk03 Redo
While I wait for the real thing to be painted here is a miniature version. The model is one of the ones from eBay I painted with a metal body and I probably should have done more prep work to make the paint stick better it came out okay. It looks better in pictures though.

Re: Hawk03 Redo
Car is painted! I haven't seen it in person but looks good in the pics. Hopefully in the next couple of weeks I will be able to work on finishing some loose ends. I had the rear light surrounds painted, '74 headlight buckets installed and also installed a '74/'75 bumper which all turned out pretty good I think. Excited to see the new wheels on it.

Thanks! Here is an updated pic with new wheels and tires. I also changed out the rear springs. The belltech rear springs were too squishy and sat too low. I'm not all convinced with the new springs, wish they were a tad lower but it looks decent and rides/handles good.

Overall I think its a Kik A$$ Job ONLY thing I would have done different is Black the Tail Panel to contrast against the Red Tails

Re: Hawk03 Redo
I found a couple of pictures of when I first bought my car in December 1995. It looks a little different today than it did then. I will try and upload more pics of when I first tried to do body work and have the car repainted in the late '90s.

Re: Hawk03 Redo
Finally finished dyeing my interior pieces, I had to redye all of them using SEM brand paints. I didn't keep track of how many cans I used and I don't know if I want to know, lol. Below are the door and rear panels. I think they turned out pretty good. I'm planning on installing the carpet, new seats and panels this weekend.

That looks great Hawk. I did the same thing and I think I might have gone thru about 6 cans. lol

Re: Hawk03 Redo
That white is phenomenal. I'd like to ditch my cloth door and rear panels for plain vinyl. Preferably without the buttons too.

Re: Hawk03 Redo
Thanks guys, I'm pretty excited to see the interior all together. I doubt if I have time to put the headliner in so that will look a little off since its red. Oh and the dash of course needs some work but I have a plan that will hopefully turn out okay.

Re: Hawk03 Redo
Installed the carpet, new seats and console over the weekend. Went to my first car show as well. It was in the 40's and windy so it wasn't much fun.
I temporarily installed the door panels to see how it all would come out. I still need to dye the rear seat and mess with the dash.
