Re: '76 Guna S-3 Project w/ pics
I seriously considered the burnt orange color my buddy painted his '71 442. Bittersweet was the name,OE color for '71. I still kind of kick myself for not doing it.

http://www.metcomotorsports.com/products.asp?cat=105 I use these and they really stopped wheel hop and improved traction drastically, It says its for their lower control arms, but I think as long as you have poly bushings and/or solid lower control arms they would work. They don't interfere with the sway bar either.

Re: '76 Guna S-3 Project w/ pics
. The instructions say it requires experience, pinion angles must be measured, and it is primarily for drag racing use only. The installed pic shows a aftermarket rear sway bar, Different from our OE Or impala SS bars.77mali wrote:Got any on car pics Bruisr? That looks simple & INEXPENSIVE, which is always a plus.

Did you look at electric dumps first? I read good and bad about them and want to do them also.

I've wondered about those. If they're solenoid driven, do they suffer from heat soak? A starter will, and it's not even exposed directly to the hot exhaust stream like cutouts are. And how did they address expansion/contraction from temperature change? If you make the tolerances tight so they don't leak when they're cold, do they then bind when they're hot? Or do you make the tolerances loose so they don't bind when hot, but then they leak when they're cold? How many hot/cold cycles can they stand before they fail?

Re: '76 Guna S-3 Project w/ pics
At one time I had the manual cut outs on my '74. All I ever used them for was to impress my drunk buddys at party's. When I changed the exhaust (to the side pipes) I eliminated them.

Back in the day, we would weld gas tank necks onto the exhaust and whenever we wanted it loud we would just reach down and take off the gas cap. JB
