And 495 on long island, ny isnt any better. The metropolitan area of ny is huge and very congested.

No doubt. But luckily in all my travels I have never had to drive in NYC metro. Of course, I have probably just jinxed myself by saying that. Smile

I ride 495 all the time & have only experienced parking lots during construction like re-paving or when there are accidents. Most of the time it's good in my experience.

I made a wrong turn once & ended up on the GW bridge in NYC during construction on my way back from PA. That was an experience, I meant to head up to the Tappen Zee. I think it added a day to our trip.

I haven't driven in the Northeast, Mass. etc since I was in the military, in 1952. Fort Devens in Mass. Is that place still there ??

Just when I figured it was gonna warm up more here, 1 to 3 inches of snow is predicted tonight Mad

I'm putting my '75 Elco on jack stands, to remove the TH400 transmission, for an oil leak, which I believe is the big O ring on the pump housing.....bummer !.... Evil or Very Mad

It is still around Bill although the base is very much downsized. Funny thing is that "Devens" became it's on town not long ago. Most of the old base is now new manufacturing & new businesses.

Yeah, Devens was just a stopping off place before shipping out to Ft Dix NJ & then overseas. I wonder if FT Dix is still around. Lots of un-needed bases have been closed. Don't think they closed any in Hawaii though, the top brass there like the fun & sun too much. Very Happy

As far as I know Ft Dix is closed thats where I did my basic training at some years ago and was always xigging sand from every orifice on me, biggest army sandbox I kndw of

We had 3" of snow on the ground yesterday morning when I drove in to work. Ugh....

Supposed to be 65 tomorrow though. Gotta love Michigan weather.

Nope its still open, its about 40 minutes north of me, and 5 minutes from my brothers house (you can hear them on the firing ranges from his house)
