Recently I've had a neighbor farmer clear out my driveway. He has a BIG IH tractor, with a big snow blower on it. It throws snow about 50 feet. And it's worth every dime I pay him to do it....

The neighbor's diesel tractor is like twice that big, but it's not as dramatic when removing snow as that one !!

So it's on! Yesterday we actually got plowable snow about 6" where I'm at. Now we have a 2-day event that they're calling a potential "Block-bustah Blizzahd" predicting anywhere from 21-36 (or more) inches depending on where you at! Wooh-stah (that's Worcester) may get as much as 42"

BREAD, MILK and TERLETT PAYPAH (Toilet paper) are in short supply and all the supermarkets and gas stations are raking it in!

Looks like you guys just north of NYC are getting it pretty bad too- central Mass & CT look like the "jackpot" areas. We'll prob be shut down here most of next week til they can plow the roads. I don't think they can keep up with 3-4" per hour. Kind of scary really- it's really a winter hurricane when you consider the 50-65 mph winds they're forecasting. It's all good until the power goes out cause of a tree limb or something stupid like that! I'm getting some wood just in case for the fireplace.

Ive got a little siphon pump in case I need to pump fuel out of the monte carlos in the garage for the generator. Still wish I had a fireplace

I'd rather have the generator- lights are good to have along with heat. At least I have my 24 rolls of TP, 12 loaves of bread & 8 gallons of milk.

I think that the most snow we have had (so far) is about 1 1/2 inches, but it's been quite cold. I spent quite a bit having my driveway plowed last year, and hope It's not like that this year. A farmer near me has a BIG diesel tractor, with a 10 or 12 ft snow blower mounted on the back of it. Kind cool, it throws snow over 50 feet !
Did I mention that I'm allergic to snow shovels ? Smile

Just saw the news. The gov.is already saying they are going to close ny thruway and I-84 this afternoon. Should be a fun commute home.

Some town's here have already declared a state of emergency too! Gotta get your cars off the street by 5pm. I feel bad- people have to find a parking garage or paid lot to store their cars if they don't have a driveway. In Boston that's like $50.00/day & most of those @$$hats will raise their prices too. Ouch.

Our blizzard was close to 36" here (last week). It snowed all farkin' day yesterday and we got another 18" on top of that. Me & the snow thrower are both on our last legs.
