That way I could paint the Elky and the colonade simularly to make a matched pair. I really made a big mistake letting that lime green one over in southern Indiana get away. It was NICE. The good ones are always green, no offense Limey, but I don't like green. I think no one wants to be seen in a green car so they just sit in a garage where no one can see them.

green is a bad omen here, Every green car will always cause trouble and give you whoa nelly. Thats my take on it after owning many green cars and seen the trouble with friends and family with their green car....

Omen you say? So that's why you traded me the 73!
LMAO, now you're stuck with a possessed car that tried to take your leg off (It was probably green at one point too.)

jerry harman wrote:Hi to everyone: I am a retired Army Helicopter pilot. Still trying to keep all the parts together and enjoy our special era automobiles.
I am the original owner of a totally restored 76 Chevelle Malibu Classic. My ride happened to be a special order Factory Dealer Demo car--Now all that means is its got power everything and the special analog instruments encluding factrory tach.
Its got a 427 small block, tuned port fuel injection,4 wheell disc brakes, tilt, cruise, air. Lots of work on the suspension. Its color is Firethorn with a 1/2 vinl top. Now running 15s future will be 18s rims with lower profile tires. I plan on running 8in on the front and 10s on the rear.
How do I download a few pics of my work in progress?
Thanks, jerry
Saw your car today at the VA, It was looking awesome! This is one slick 76

New to this site !
Hi !,, I actually found this site by accident. Nice to know there are other G3 enthusiast out there. My name is Terry and I have a '76 Laguna S3 w/ a 355ci eng gear drive, headers w/ a Pypes X-pipe sys. It's white w/ black stripe and blue int. w/ swivel buckets. I bought it from a guy in Ohio in '98 - flew out there and drove it home to Md. I fell in love with the Lagunas in '74 before I could even drive - I swore I'd buy one someday.... well, someday was the 1st day home from Navy bootcamp. I ordered a '76 Laguna S3 white w/ firethorn stripe and 1/2 vinyl roof, white swivel bucket int w/ red trim, 400 ci eng, 350 trans ( forgot to order the 400 trans ) and a 2:32 geared rear end ( knew I was going to do a whole lot of Ct. to Md. I-95 the next few years) What a hiway cruiser that car was!! -- anyway, sold it 10yrs later for 86 Monte SS. Started missing the Laguna - you know,, that whole '1st car' thing!! This one is as close as I could find to my 1st one. It's mostly a 'done' car but we all know they're never "done" so I have some odds & ends to do and complete. So maybe this site come help me with those things!! Looking forward to getting to know you all. Looking back thru some of these intro threads -- I agree with that 'green car curse' thing!!! I had no luck w/ any green car !!

BlackChevelleSS started it...... ironically, most (if not all) of his Chevelles are either green or were originally.

Re: ~~Introduce Yourself~~
Hi, my name is Tyler, wne i was little ive always loved cars so i was really happy when i was 11 years old and my dad told me and my twin brother that we were going to get cars soon, on thanksgiving day of 2005 i got my 1973 chevelle 4 door, i loved that car from the first day i saw it, ive put a lot of my free time to play games and watch tv into my car, ive worked my A$$ of so i could get it to the way i wanted it, first we took out the motor and tranny, 2nd i took out my seats so i could get that nasty carpet out, i got a set of wheels and tired from my dad for $150 and for the rallys i had on it, i still have the same wheels and tires and there still like brand new, we already had a spare 350 laying around our shop so i decided that it would be cheaper than building a new one so i got it, we got it in and it ran perfecly fine, i did my first burnout in that car in our shop i was only 12, we continued doing little piddly stuff to it over several months, than it was time for me to cut my floors out, you could see the ground and my mom called it the flinstonemobile, my dad welded the new (sheet medal) floors in, and i painted all the plastic inside pieces, me and my mom put the plastic pieces back together inside the car and we put in my new carpet and than my seats, we sanded it, did body work and while doing that i found out that it has a replacement quarter pannel that i ddint even know of, we got th body perfect and my dad primered it, than me and my twin bro wet sanded it and taped it back up and we painted it, it turned out beautiful for $130 paint from ebay!!, i got exhaust on it and i originally has Flomaster 40 inch series and i cut them off and tight now i have strait pipe, ive painted all under the car as much as i could reach with me on the grouns and that changed alot, no more whoa nelly brown underneath, me and my older brother put in the stereo system, Dual headunit and all the wires and Fosgate amp and Dual 12 inch subs and 2 walmart cheap 6X9's but sound great!!, im still doing little things to it to make it show car quality little at a time but its slso gonna be my daily driver when i turn 16 in 2 weeks!!, i will never get rid of my baby, i will have her 4 ever!!,

Re: ~~Introduce Yourself~~
1973chevelle, I am proud of you. I am the old, old man on the board and it is reassuring to see young people like you instead of what roams my semi-slum neighborhood. When I was your age I had a dad who was a car nut supreme and I started working on my own car following in his footsteps. It is good that you have a hobby to keep you occupied and out of trouble. I wish you and your family the best. BTW, I have always loved 4 door cars. When I was 18 years old I bought two old 54 Fords, one a 4 door and the other a miodel that had a plexiglass dome in the top from the factory. I used the 2 door for a parts car and kept the 4 door and put a full race 428 Furd motor in it. JB

Give me a little time to get 'unbusy' and figure out how to get pics up on this thing. For now though, you can go to www.cardomain.com ,, click on chevrolets then click on Laguna; mine is on the second page under 76LagunaS3. I'll try to avoid the bad mouthing by getting some pics on soon though.
