Re: ~~Introduce Yourself~~
Thanks for the warm welcomes. A good friend of mine has a 74 Hurst olds Indy pace car (cutlass) that hasn't seen the light of day for probably 10 years. I would see if he is interested in joining except he probably doesn't own a computer and i know he doesn't have a smart phone.

Arizona G3 Nut
Hi everyone! My name is Tom, I am in Phoenix and love this site! I am a certified G3 Nut, I have a 73 SS 350 in Brown, a 75 Laguna S-3 in Oxblood Red, a 73 Grand Am in white, a 75 Grand Am in carmel beige, and a 69 Camaro RS in butternut yellow. I drove a 73 Laguna in midnite green for 300, 000 miles as a daily driver, and had a 76 Grand Prix in 79. Currently my 75 Grand Am has just 61,000 miles and has 26 options! It is the only one with both a power split bench seat and the opera windows combined together. The guys at POCI gave it an Editors choice award. Grand Ams came standard with buckets and the louvered windows, so it is really unusual. Check out the pics on the gallery!

Re: ~~Introduce Yourself~~
That is a sweet lineup of cars, my friend! Glad you found us!
Am working on my own '75 Laguna S3 that used to be roaming the streets of Mesa, AZ. Can only hope to get it looking as nice as yours!

Re: ~~Introduce Yourself~~
Thanks Mcarlo77! My 'Guna needs a fair bit of work too, but it takes nice pictures and sure drives great. It has a Goodwrench replacement engine from the previous owner, could use a steroid injection, but for now I am just enjoying cruising it! I found that car in an Atlas Van Lines Warehouse that resembled the last scene in "Raiders of the Lost Ark". I see the nose between rows of storage crates and could not tell what color it was from the inch of dust that had settled! I said I will give you the full $2,500 if it starts and it did! So I did! There are a few bubbles in the paint to fix, and a top to replace, but it is a nice driver. White bench seat with red dash and rug. No splits and the dash is nice.[img][/img]This is a pic of the day they pushed it out and started it.[img][/img]

Here is a picture of the 75 Grand Am with 61,000 miles and 26 options. i bought it from a couple in their 80's. He had purchased it as a wedding gift to her, so it was treasured all it's life. It still smells new inside![img][/img]

Re: ~~Introduce Yourself~~
Engine pics. Still can see the "OK" mark on the cruise control, the orange date sticker on the wire harness,The shift stamping on the firewall by the master cylinder, the grease pencil circle on top of the radiator support, and the original plug wires too! We detailed the engine and brackets only, left all the surrounding areas alone so not to disturb all the markings and tags. Pontiac used 3 different colors as the years 74 and 75 went by. We had to color match the paint from an existing valve cover and oil fill. It is similar but not the same as an Olds color. there is no smog equip, but everything else is there, incuding the ultra rare white check valve just in front of the carb.[img][/img]

Re: ~~Introduce Yourself~~
Here is the 73 Grand Am wearing the Boss#338 wheels. I switch those wheels around on all 4 cars depending if i am just cruising or at a show or taking pics! This car is named "Ginger Ann". I wanted another Grand Am to drive around because the 75 is so original and i am trying to preserve it. And i wanted the buckets and louvered windows! She has 71,000 miles on her, but it was used hard somewhere along the line. Originally it was mesa tan with saddle vinyl int. Had a color change to white and a bordello red velour int by a previous owner. He did a good job though. She really rumbles and drives great! people crawl all over it at the cruises![img][/img]

Re: ~~Introduce Yourself~~
The seats lay all the way back and it was the 1st american auto with lumbar support adjustment. And only the Grand Am got these seats, the Grand Prix and GTO did not! They have a similar "horse collar" seat like the firebird or the thin pleated buckets in the Lemans and GTO. [img][/img]

Re: ~~Introduce Yourself~~
The thing that kills our cars around here (besides rust) is the local figure 8 race track. G3's have been the cars of choice since they became old enough.

Re: ~~Introduce Yourself~~
Hello everyone, My name is Ken. After twenty years of owning an A body, I finely found this site today! And I already love it! I am from Nebraska and currently in the process of restoring my 1973 chevelle SS 350 with a frame off resto. It is an original two tone paint, burgandy and silver with a white landaue top. The car is in the final stages to be put back on the frame this week, I will have the motor rebuild done next week (might as well as freshen it up as it is out of the car)and hopefully she will be off to paint this spring. Looking forward to maybe be able to help some people on the way, and maybe get some good help also! Thanks for the site!

Hello all
Hi the name is Clint and I am the proud owner (still) of the 73 laguna I have had since high school (80's!). Live in oil country - Alberta - yes thats home to the Edmonton Oilers! This car was parked in our barn when it was nine years old in 81. It sat covered and I finally rescued it last year. It is pretty much complete and still in great shape as it only had 80k on it. Look forward to chattin er up with fellow G3 owners. Thanks

Re: ~~Introduce Yourself~~
Hi Clint, I made my mother buy a midnite green 73 Laguna in 1975. I got it a few years later and put 300,000 miles on it! There are pics of it in the gallery. Welcome to the site! Gotta love those 'Gunas!!

Taffy Bear
Hi, I drive and drag race a 1976 350 Monte Carlo. The car is almost stock and we now run consistantly between 15.8 and 16 second quarters (with a PB of 15.6) depending on the weather (we live in the UK and have to cope with big temp changes and changing wind speed and direction !) We are about to start our fourth season. We started out running 18 second quarters and finished 9th in the UK SPET championships, we used that season to learn about the car and the following year we won our class championship. Last year we were plagued with fueling problems and didnt get the car consistant until the end of the year, we ended a dissapointing fourth after leading for the first few events. This year is going to be a struggle for us due to lack of funding and sponsorship. I bought the car at a bargain price and was going to sell it on to make some cash, that was until i drove it and fell in love with it ! I also own a 59 Caddy, a 57 Belair and a 51 Chevrolet Pickup, This has been heavily modified and is a keeper ! I even had a picture of it tattoo'd on my back My wife also drives a fuel injected V6 powered 1961 Furd 100e. She helps me with the racing and can read the weather and dial the car in before i can ! I have two sons 16yrs and 14months, both love anything with wheels too ! I was a builder for 30 years until arthritis forced me to change jobs. I now work in a boat building yard. I used to play Rugby (football for real men!) Cricket and angling. I once won the Welsh National Bass fishing championships. I love my Cars, my wife and my sons.
