Welcome aboard... uh.... to the dark side! Don't feel in too alone, a few of us have owned both early & later model A-Bodies. I've personally owned four 70-72s, but I prefer the 73-77 models. Once you get to building one, you'll realize the weight penalty is mostly in smog junk & 5mph bumpers.

Welcome to this site, Vader, there are also many great Pontiac specific sites out there. Pontiac has always been near the top in producing great cars. JB

Re: ~~Introduce Yourself~~
I didn't do it right (as usual) and jumped on the discussion forum first.
My user name Is Pila, which is Hawaiian for Bill. I'm an old guy, staring at 79 in October, who still works on airplanes part time, fools with cars, wood boats, and Hawaiian music, which is mainly Hawaiian steel guitar.
I live in Michigan, where road salt eats cars for breakfast I still fly some, but not as much as I did years back, and I have an airplane restoration going, which needs to be brought up from the back burner and finished.

Hi Rago
I'm restoring a '47 Luscombe 8E, which was a wreck that I picked up some years back.

Re: ~~Introduce Yourself~~
Hi guys I have been looking for a '76 laguna s3 for some time off and on. My addiction started long ago would have to blame Nascar for that I guess anytime I could watch a race which wasn't all that often back then up here anyhow I was on it. Well my dad and I used to buy write offs and repair and resell them. My very first car was a 74 GTX. I know mopar yada yada well any how long story short they can't do all the stuff they do on Dukes and Smokey and the bandit and later found orig owner it had almost 700rwhp a tad over the top for a 16 yr old lead foot.. long sotry shortened somewhat it lasted 3.5 months before it was perma totalled.
Anyhew the good part my next car for me was a '76 Laguna s3 full load white with blue stripes and white interior never seen another one exactly like it especially after I redid it. White interiors go with anything as good as black almost so I did my second complete paint job I went with a red nose hood and fenders fading to white doors and roof with a finaly fade to a blue back half of quarters and trunk. Loved that car!
Ok saw some of Limey's posts other places and I am here posting my wish list for a preferably '76 but '75 would do Laguna s3 if anyone knows of a decent one please let me know thanks.

Hello guys
My name is Kjetil, and I'm from Norway. A strapping young lad, soon 28 years of age . I've got a 1975 Monte Carlo which I've been working on for two years. I'm also on the NMCOA forums, but this forum seems to be a little more active, so I signed up here as well. Putting out some pictures in the project section soon.

Re: ~~Introduce Yourself~~
Welcome Kjetil. You have chosen a nice model of car. As a resident of the USA I am sort of a home body who has never ventured far from home and of course that includes anywhere past an ocean. We are waiting with baited breath to hear more about your car. How did you come by your car? Do you and your countrymen have problems with rust in older cars over there? Its a shame GM did not use better rust protection in their 1970s models, that is the only real problem with them. Have a nice day. JB

Thanks JB
Yes, rust is a big problem over here as well. The majority of the 70's daily driver US cars here are attacked to some degree. But I also think this is very much due to maintenance neglect. The Monte
is going to be a summer car only.

Re: ~~Introduce Yourself~~
another one from this side of the ocean. welcome!
btw, are you coming to power big meet in vasteras in july?
for all of you who dont know what this is, its the biggest american car meet in the world, located in vasteras, sweden. me and some other guys are going there in an unrestored 49 olds delta 88. my friends bought it at a junkyard somewhere in the midwest about three years ago. hooked a battery booster to it and it fired right up. tranny needed a rebuild but other than that there hasnt been a single problem so far. we made an 800 mile journey this summer and it ran flawless without any preparations whatsoever. i love bringing this fact up when arguing with some jap crap lovers. it usually shuts them up for good!
so here is the video of the meet:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gRdgcAuBdcY
and here is the olds
sorry for OT, i just had to share it:)
