New Project...
She needs a little love, but startiig from a decent foundation...
96 SS, 50 some thousand miles on the motor, 40 thousand on the tranny
A guyI work with bought it new in 96, drove it a while and got divorced, his wife got it, drove it a while and let her kids drive it. They beat the piss out of it so she took it away from them, Still under warranty, she had the dealer replace the motor and tranny, plus whatever else she could get them to do. Have all of the paper work including the original window sticker and maintenece records.
Been sitting since Nov. needed a battery and starter, front brake pads and a rotor and VROOM.
Needs a lot of cosmetic work, but I'm gonna use it as a DD, so not too worried about the smaller stuff.
LT1, 4L60E, etc etc. got it for 3 grand....still books between 8500 and 12000.

Re: New Project...
Knew a guy in high school with one. He put a chip and exhaust on it, and it was pretty mean. Nice score.

No chips ...You have to download the new program to the ECM.

Re: New Project...
That's the thing that's going to be interesting about bringing this car back to life, I'm used to working on 60s,70s, and 80's cars.
I've been reading about the OBD I and II today trying to catch up with the technology...

Re: New Project...
Seems to be a real good time to get a deal on a project car.
I'm sure that the Impala would have cost me a couple thousand more than I gave for it if the economy wasn't so shaky.
