New member from Kansas
Hey all, just joined today and wanted to drop in a say hello. My name is Kenny and I am from Kansas City. My wife and I picked up a clean 1977 Monte Carlo back in May. When My wife and I started dating I drove a 1977 Monte Carlo. She loved that car but I ended up selling it just before we got married and it kind of broke her heart. I told her one day we would buy another one that would be "ours" not mine. Well May was our 26th Anniversary and I happen to be messing around on eBay and ran across this 1977 monte for sale. The seller and I e-mailed back and forth on it and he ended up giving me his number so we could chat about it. We struck a deal over the phone pending on us driving down to Alabama to check it out. So we left one Friday after work and headed South to look this car over. We liked what we saw and bought it on the spot. It has 305 engine with a auto transmission and 52,000 original miles and drives as straight as a arrow on the hiway. She needs a little work on the body, mostly surface rust and door dings and some interior work such as new carpet and the front seat is faded from the sun along with the dash being cracked. Looking forward to getting to know you guys and talking older Chevy's. Thanks for stopping by.

Thanks for the welcome guys.
To tell the truth, she was the one that kept after me to contact the guy and see if we could make a deal off line. I think she enjoys the car a little more than I do. She is always trying to find places we can take it.

Thats cool. My wife will ride with me, but she prefers her car. She does go to shows with me and rode all the way to MN from KY to pick up an engine for my car, so I can't complain.

Even better. It's even more fun if the two of you are in it together.

Welcome and nice ride.
My wife drives my cars and loves every thing about them. She only ounce said how much did that cost when she was with me to pick up the paint. When I said 1800.00 for two gallons no clear she said "I don't get it". Then I pulled it out into the sun after painting it and she said now I get it. I really was blessed with a wife like mine. Sounds like you are also.

Re: New member from Kansas
Welcome Kenny - what can I say I'm on the "me too wagon" as well. My wife was the one cheering when we got the new engine running last year (that our boys and I built) just like a kid at Christmas. Come to think of it, it's more like a family affair. Good clean greasy fun all around. . .
