Does anyone have any suggestions for rear coil springs? When I rebuilt the suspension in 1995 I installed 74 olds 98 rear coils to "Jack it up". Now 17 years later it's still very high in the rear and still rides like crap. I know I can get stock replacements but has anyone used something from another car or specific aftermarket parts. I would just like to level it out and get a decent ride but anything that improves performance always interests me. Note: I just recieved my tubular control arm set and am waiting for the 95 impala ss sway bay I scored off eBay for $40.00. Thanks for any imput.

You used to could buy Moog springs to fit any specification at Autozone. They went by specifications instead of by model of car. JB

Thanks for the response. I will probably do that although i would prefer something with a little more performance than stock.

As JB mentioned...Moog makes many coil springs that can be used. A couple years ago I found a chart online that showed specifications of many springs that could be used on 73-77 Chevelle/Malibu & Lagunas. This weekend I'll do a little searching online to see if I can find it again. You may want to consider rear cargo coil springs. I used Moog cc507 on my 4250 lbs '76 with Edelbrock shocks & 1 inch rear sway bar. With this combo...I have yet to experience any wheel hop with reduced body roll & provides a nice comfortable ride with ride height dropping to 26 inches with a trunk load of groceries. Normal ride height in the rear with a full tank of fuel is 26.5 inches from the center of the wheel well lip. My front ride height is at 26 inches from the wheel well with Moog 590 coil springs & 1 1/4 inch front sway bar. From what I have learned. Cargo springs are made to become stiffer when applying force or weight to retain factory ride height without compromising ride quality. I should also mention that Hope this info helps.

Speedway Motors and Northern Auto Parts have a good selection of 73-77 Chevelle/A-body suspension parts.Check them out online. cheers

I just found out that you can buy coil springs from amazon. I guess i just assumed they didn't deal in auto parts. I got the springs for $73.00 with free shipping. Only catch is you have to produce a part # which i found online. This is the cheapest price i could find and they are moog springs.
