Friend has one in the original box. Anyone have an guess at what something like this would bring $?

What part of the dash? The whole thing? Or just the pad, the gauge cover/bezel?

Only way I know to get an idea of what it would be worth is to compare it to the $800-$1000 it costs to have one restored at some place like Just Dashes.

Re: NOS Black Dash W/AC 74-77 Chevelle Malibu Monte Carlo
This is only the second NOS dash I've heard about...period. I remember earlier this year someone posted up a mint condition dash that was spotted on e-Bay; complete with instrument panel (gauges) and lower vent ducting, glove box, ashtray for something like $750. Maybe someone else remembers this and can confirm price?

Found the old post. Guy was selling a beautiful complete dash (non-tach) out of a '77 Monte w/29K miles. Started the listing at $799 with a Reserve ($175 shipping, too). No bidders.
That's the problem...few owners of these cars are willing or able to spend that kind of money for a dash when they would rather spend what limited funds they have on building the drive train, new wheels, missing parts, etc.

Never mind that you'd risk shipping damage or (Lord forbid) you crack it during installation.

I'm not sure what I'd do if I cracked a dash that I had just paid almost a grand for.. Probably burst into flames from being so pissed at myself.

Re: NOS Black Dash W/AC 74-77 Chevelle Malibu Monte Carlo
Its just a one piece dash like the 74-77's had in them. Just the pad and lower section where the radio goes. No cluster, glove box door or emblem. Just the way it would look if you walked into a dealer in 74 and ordered one. And I agree, I would be extremely hesitant about shipping this thing. Even in the original box. UPS would take that as a challenge to destroy it. Just was wondering what it would be worth. I do know that Just Dashes does get about a $1000 plus shipping both ways to Cali. But there are still alot of real nice used dashes out there if you look hard enough.

Where were you 6 months ago
I just bought a whole car because it had a fully restored dash from just dashes in it he paid 1200.00 to have it redone. Now its in my car. I could not find one anywhere. It was a big job I never did one before on a chevelle. I would hold out for $1,000 you have a very RARE hard to find item and it is black a very popular color!

Is that from your old stock or a recent find?

Its from old stock of a guy I know. I had not actually seen this thing when I originally posted this thread. It was just a legend to me when he told me about it. I was a bit of a doubter until I actually saw it and got a pic last month. Its dated 1975 on the back and is a two piece unit as the pad unscrews from the lower section.
