Re: ~~Introduce Yourself~~
Welcome Kurt. That's a good looking Monte. They are great cars & still quite under appreciated...that's why we hang here with like minded folk.

Re: ~~Introduce Yourself~~
Hello everyone. My name is Jaime and i am 28 years old. Currently live in Lakewood, CA. I have been married for 2 years and have a beautiful 5 month old daughter. I have been a tech with Mercedes for 5 years. I am the proud owner of a 1973 Chevelle Malibu that was originally purchased by my parents in 1977 before they were married. I was given the keys at age 14 to start working on it. It currently has a 355 with some goodies. Havent been able to do much since the arrival of my daughter but do still drive it on occasion. I am so glad to see so many G3 owners in one place. I have been at CT since 2001 and some of you my know me as jm7368. I will try and post some pics as soon as i can.

Hello fellow Colonnade lovers
Hello fellow Colonnade lovers,
I just want to introduce myself. I have owned a Pontiac Can Am since 1980. Yep, it is hard for me to believe that it has been 32 years since I spotted my prized possession on a used car lot in Houston. I was looking for a Pontiac that was rare and not a Firebird. At the time, my dad owned a 1974 Monte Carlo 350 and my mom owned a 1977 Olds Cutlass Supreme 350. One of the first things I did was to swap the double hump transmission cross-member from my dad's Monte for my pitiful single hump cross-member, so I could run dual exhaust. Things just snowballed from there. Next was a Fairbanks positive shift plate for the Turbo-400, headers, Edlebrock P4B aluminum intake, Holley 650 and a Crane cam. A few years later the 400 broke it's crank right behind the balancer and I used this as an excuse to build and install a 455. Ram air III heads fitted with Ram air IV stainless steel, swirl polished valves, forged flat top pistons that were dished to reach a somewhat livable 9.75 compression ratio. Comp cams camshaft, 750 Holley on the same P4B with a stock distributor re-curved on a Sun machine. Heavy duty input shaft, output shaft and sprag in the Turbo-400, along with a 3500 stall converter. Rounding up the drivetrain with a 12 bolt rear end with a Moroso Brute Strength posi, 4:10 gears and a C-clip eliminator kit. This was all done in 1988 and it is still in the car today. I had a whole lot of fun with this combination over the years. I need to perform a frame off restoration and get her back on the street. When you hop up any of these G3 body styles, nobody expects them to be fast. I made monkey butt's out of an awful lot 5.0 liter Mustangs. I came across a guy in a brand new Buick GNX. This guy thought he was a genuine ball of fire. He had a sick look on his face afterwards. He just could not believe that a car that big, could go that fast. I am glad I came across this site, because these cars are a hell of a lot fun. It is a shame that smog motors were the only power plants that were available when they were new. I believe they were designed, at first, for the next phase of performance of the muscle car era that never came.

Re: ~~Introduce Yourself~~
Welcome Bill. That is a sharp Elky from what I can see in your avatar. Is that all black? I am looking forward to seeing bigger pics because I have been thinking about painting my Elky solid black. Of course, I never can make up my mind when it comes to things like what color to use. First, I need some money, LOL. JB

Re: ~~Introduce Yourself~~
Hey everyone! My name is TJ and I am the proud new owner of a 1973 Chevy Malibu. I bought it off an old lady who barely drove it and garage kept it. It has 43,000 original miles on it. It needs a little tlc (wash down and buff) but otherwise is in amazing shape! I will have more picture posted shortly! Thanks all
