Re: 1977 Chevelle Malibu Classic Progress Photo's aka Mali
Welcome to the club ! After working on my project for almost 3 years, I keep finding new stuff I bought, & forgot. Sometime bought the same part twice !!

Well I discovered Indy Auto Parts today. A 10 minute ride two towns over.
Got everything left on my list (and a little sum' extra). They also had a pigtail for the Tach- IN STOCK! Just have to do a couple more things & s/b good for a run tomorrow.
Gotta find the damn overflow bottle, I bet it's with Chris' rear cover but hey, Life is good!

You're making great progress! That's exactly how it's going in the car, right?

The glass packs? Oh hell yes. Might opt for a bit longer pipe off the collectors but that's it pretty much.

OMG!!!
Thanks Chris...LMAO! Maybe I should look @ my reference pics.
Oh well...I'll have to redo it tomorrow. That's funny too, I was looking @ the starter thinking it was still a little out of whack.

When you install parts and aren't sure, witness marks are a guide. Like for example, the marks from the flex plate bolts on the rear side & crank marks on the front side etc.

Re: 1977 Chevelle Malibu Classic Progress Photo's aka Mali
It's new so no torque marks. Now it'll have em on both sides
Another clue is that the torque converter sits "ON" not "IN" the offset humps. LOL

Re: 1977 Chevelle Malibu Classic Progress Photo's aka Mali
Maybe I should just go & buy a new one instead of farting around with this but I think my Diz is F'ed up. I've set the rotor to point to #1 and set cylinder TDC (compression stroke) in the correct position...it's getting juice- engine is cranking but no fire in the cylinders- no boom-booms & no flames coming out the headers- not even like a misfire.
I've checked the connections inside & they look ok (maybe a little dirty) but I noticed a blue colored plastic 'something' that was in 2 or 3 pieces inside the cap when I took it off- any ideas what that might be? Doesn't look like anything could have come loose & I didn't notice any remnants of anything that looked broken off on the rotor assembly.
(Yes-I checked the plug wire routing for firing order & spark plug location-lol)
