75 Chevelle 350 engine code
Just curious…What would be the engine code for my 75 Chevelle 350? If it has a code.

Re: 75 Chevelle 350 engine code
There are two different "codes" to identify an engine if it is original. The fifth digit of the VIN identifies the engine originally put in the car. The other code is on the engine itself on a pad on the block deck surface just under the alternator, it will have the plant, date of assembly followed by a 2 or 3 letter code - that code will identify the engine and type of chassis originally installed in.

Re: 75 Chevelle 350 engine code
For the VIN codes, the 5th digit for a 350-2bbl was VIN Code "H" and 350-4bbl was VIN Code "L."

Re: 75 Chevelle 350 engine code
Yes you mean RPO codes.
350-2bbl = L65
350-4bbl = LM1
350-2bbl = L65
350-4bbl = LM1
