Rear Sway Bar Mount
Hey Guys, Does any one have the factory mounting insert/bracket that goes in to the lower rear control arms
the sway bar attaches to? I broke the bolts off one of mine while removing my sway bar. I drilled them out and retapped them but I don't think the threads are substantial enough hold. Its a 73 SS if that makes a difference.
Thanks in advance!

Re: Rear Sway Bar Mount
No difference if its an SS or monte or cutlass, etc. If you broke one of the vertical bolts that hold the bar onto the insert, put a nut and lock washer on rear side. If you broke of the side bolts, Id drill it out to fit a grade 8 bolt and just tack a short sleeve in the center of the "U". That way you can crank down on the bolts.
Quick fix.

And order the bolts with it. Ours are discontinued. The ones you can order now use metric bolts.

Re: Rear Sway Bar Mount
I sent him a PM. I have a set of the rear control arms complete with poly graphite bushings . I removed the set over the Christmas holidays.
I did not apply a price in the PM ...but offered sending a picture if interested.
He's has not responded.
Don't know if he just decided to go a completely different direction.

Re: Rear Sway Bar Mount
Or even use a cut off wheel and cut the nuts off. Then tack weld new ones on. Very easy to correct this issue.

Re: Rear Sway Bar Mount
This may be a good opportunity to stick a set of boxed control arms on the car...which I may or may not have...ha.
