Buckskin vinyl washout
Wow I purchased a front bucket seat kit from PUI in order to replace the drivers seat bottom portion only. Being as the cover is a one piece design and only sold in pairs, I had to spend a significant amount of $$$ before paying for a professional install. I'm amazed at how much that damn vinyl's color throughout the car has changed. Anyone aware of a rattle can refinishing product that can replicate that buckskin color? Probably gonna have to do the remainder of the seating areas PLUS door panel/ rear seat armrest area things as well.

Partsplace restoration paint worked very well. They have the buckskin paint your looking for. I've used it with great results....

Re: Buckskin vinyl washout
Just for the record one problem of the buckskin interior beyond washout or maybe confusing the issue is that the vendors either couldn't get it right or were confused by GM's constant tinkering with the color. My Chevelle has variations of "buckskin" color on all the interior trim. This is why I'm finally standardizing the trim on similar but not identical colors and forgetting about trying to "get it right". I think the other color interiors are much easier to deal with.

I would agree the tan/buckskin color was the worst in maintaining color consistency from aging over the years. I've even seen some of the plastic trims start to turn a weird shade of tan/light green inside cars sitting in the sun in JY's for many years.

Re: Buckskin vinyl washout
My saddle interior had become an orange, but it was so consistent you could swear it was the right color. Only the underside of the dash revealed the truth. Everything got re-dyed.

Re: Buckskin vinyl washout
Yeah I've given up . I am just using SEM paints that I find pleasing while restoring the interior. Duplicating the originals is a fools errand at this point and even GM didn't do a great job of standardizing the color on the various interior trim pieces.
