I did have to work to keep up. Finally caught up at a light to take that shot.

Re: Best license plate ever
I'm surprised they stamped that .
I wanted "YAWYMTUO" for a front plate so that when somebody in front of me read it in their rear view mirror it would say OUT MY WAY . . . .

I once had a car with 3TIX3I in the shop. The guy was a flamboyant homo (can you still use that word lol). We finally figured out it spelled I exite backwords.

Re: Best license plate ever
Back in the day my friend had one that said YOMAMA. That was so long ago though I doubt they'd stamp that here now. I'm also surprised that plate got stamped. Then again the DMV person might have been "foreign". LOL
Why do NY plates have 8 digits?

That was my thought when I saw this ... holy cow. A bit shocking that got past the "sensors" ... lol.
Still ... funny plate, but ... I, too, wouldn't want that driver behind me.

Search me. Â Been that way for a long time. Â In standard plates they use all 8 positions, but one is usually a hyphen, such as ABC-1234 for cars and 12345-AB for trucks.

Yeah, I wondered that too (and I had also previously seen one on a Caddy that said BFDEAL), but then I thought that people will always push the envelope on that kind of thing, so (beyond obvious swear words themselves) where do you draw the line?
And I'd run with her/him in a minute. Â I like to do a good clip whenever possible, and it sucks when you get stuck behind some dead guy doing 10 under in the passing lane -- I'm looking at you, 495 outside Boston! I once visited a client down outside Atlanta and had to follow him on the highway -- we were doing 85/90 in a 55 zone. When we got to his office, he said, "I never have to worry about guys from New York being able to keep up."

Nysdmv has a cool link on their site so you can check if a custom plate is available before you order it.

That's just it ... I don't think you can find a specific place to draw the line. I'm thinking it really is just the luck of the draw as to who is "quality checking" the plates on any given day. You'd think if a computer were doing it, it would've been programmed to catch some of those types. *shrugs* & yet, some of the ones I've seen as having been rejected ... kinda shocking they were rejected. I can't remember which forum it was now, but I remember a number of years ago a thread about rejected license plates ... it was ... eye opening. LOL
