Are all 73-77 chevelle hood hinges/springs including lagunas and el caminos identical? 'Nother question:Are any other makes interchangeable with the 73-77 chevelles? Just looking for junkyard options...

All 73-77 A bodies utilize the same hinges and springs. Lemans, Grand Prix, el camino, Monte Carlo, Laguna, Buick. Nothing interchanges from other years.

Thank you! I had a hunch the other manufacturers' A-bodies were interchangeable.

Not correct according to the Hollander Interchange manual.  '73-'77 "A" bodies:  Chevys/GMC and Olds are the same.  Pontiacs and Buicks are each unique to their models.  I can personally confirm this with Buicks as I ran into this when trying to help a guy.

yes they would I had 76 Olds hinges on my 76 I had traded off, Also I do believe Monte Carlo should work, I have a set and they look Identical to the ones on my SE.

For everyone's info, here you go:

- '73/'77 Chevelle/Malibu/El Camino/Monte Carlo/ Sprint/Cutlass are the same

- '73-'77 Century/Regal/Luxus/Special are the same

- '73-'77 Grand Prix/Grand Am/Lemans are the same

I would advise being very careful in asking about the condition of used hinges if you aren't pulling them yourself. The yards are full of cars with bent hoods from people forcing them open or closed due to bad hinges.

Yeppers,I've got a bad drivers side hinge on my 75 laguna but luckily the previous owner had a properly functioning brain and didn't abuse the hood.I keep a homemade sign warning not to attempt closing the hood while it's in the open position in the garage.It's amazing how some people get a sudden impulse to do stupid things.(Guilty of that myself a few times).
