question on hood hinges
has anyone ever powdercoated the hood hinges? If so, did the powdercoat hold up?
I wondered from the constant friction movement of the hinges, if the powdercoat would wear off?
The less things I have to paint, the better off I am .... I hate painting every few years, as stuff starts to fade.

you can powder every thing but the springs they will crack over time and the coating will come off

Re: question on hood hinges
I have a set of "chrome" powder coated hinges on my '74. I bought them off eBay last year so I can't speak for long term, but they look really nice currently. No issues with rub through or rust (yet?)

Re: question on hood hinges
When I bought them they were sold as bright chrome powder coat, the look of chrome without the maintence. To be honest they look more like aluminum or chrome paint than a actual plated part .

Re: question on hood hinges
yup that would be powder coat then it doesn't have the "shine" of a chrome plated part
