Track Rental.... 2 dates as of now
well we have the local drag strip rented for 2 dates as of now. The first one is the 28th of this month. Thats next sunday. We have to have anyone who wants to race paid in full by the end of this week. This is a private event. This event is $40 bucks to race all day and $15 per spectator. american cars only, sorry but no RICE allowed. Didnt know if anyone on here would be interested.
The second date is September 13th. This is also a private event but its $100 to race all day and free for spectators. This is also going to be a wedding, but theres free food (BBQ) and drinks. We need racers for both events.
Both of these are at Tulsa Raceway Park which is off of Garnett between Pine and 36th st N. you can see the track off of Hwy 169.
You dont have to be fast, most of the people racing probably wont be. there might even be some 20 second passes LOL.
But they are struggling to get the money for the track rental.
We have both lanes and they will be prepped.

Re: Track Rental.... 2 dates as of now
you say American cars only- so what if a late model GTO or G8 shows up? or any Camaro built after 1993?
and no rice- so does that exclude Cavaliers with big wings and fart cannons?

Smart A$$ hehehe...........
Count me out on the 28th. I want to go, but I already have 4 yards scheduled to mow that day. You are saying on the 13th it would cost me $100 if I wanted to race or the track rental for everyone is $100? If there were any 20 seconds passes it would be me, lol.

I wish that was local, I sure would like to be there. I quit going to the strip when they started putting the influence on funny cars and big dollar dragsters. I believe if they had nothing but stock "based" cars one day a week that drag racing would boom again. JB

I'm not sure how Tulsa Raceway is, but the track near me, Mo-Kan, has Friday Grudge Matches. Basically it's a test & tune/run what you brung night for anyone with a car. I've seen lifted trucks & 4 cylinder cars running side by side against tubbed drag cars (kind of funny to watch). Tech inspection wasn't but a 5 minute once-over. I haven't had the chance to go out there in a couple of years, but it used to cost $15 to run on that night with unlimited runs. Spectators paid $10.

Drove my car out there, made 12 passes and drove it home, half mile from the house the damn distributor comes apart and kills everything under the cap.
