Finally made it out to the track
It's been over a year since I went drag racing, but I made it out Friday night. The car ran 11.90's @ 117mph, but I couldn't hook up to save my life. Looks like I need bigger slicks, the 9.5x28" MT slicks just weren't cutting it.
My best 11.95 @116.86mph

This one is of my buddy and I racing. His 69 Camaro took 2nd in the World of Wheels back in 1999. It's a sweet ride.

At the motor? I think I'm pushing 650+ at the motor.

Re: Finally made it out to the track
No at the wheels it had 428 to be precise (DYNO PROVEN), and sad to say let all the paperwork go with car to new owner

Re: Finally made it out to the track
That's the exact set up I'm running. Keep in mind you'll have to use a blow-through carb and completely redo your fuel system. (From what I can see in your photos.)
what do you mean?? i will get a holley car and a different manifold a the same time also pretty soon ill have aluminum heads. the fuel system i have now is adjustable PSI from 7psi to 14psi

Re: Finally made it out to the track
so you should be running low 11s according to the 117mph trap speed. Sounds like your putting down some power. what you have in the motor? My bro has a afr aluminum head 383 with holley stealth ram and a P1SC. hes running a cog set up and is only getting 5psi boost. The engine has seen 13psi before the crank broke at the balancer. Im trying to get him to go to the track.
I also have a friend with a procharged 03 mustang. Its stock motor with bolts ons. headers, underdrive pulleys, and alot of suspension mods in the rear. hes running 8psi and its been dyno'd tuned. It put out 400RWHP and ran 12.77 at 117mph. on drag radials, didnt hook at all. He never took it back out with the drag radials because of fear of breaking something.

Re: Finally made it out to the track
If I could hook up, I'm sure I would be in the low 11's instead of the high's. The motor isn't anything special, but has GM Fast Burn aluminum heads. I'm running 8.5psi on 91 octane, and have all the little goodies that keep everything safe. I'm putting down 525RWHP and 515RWTQ, so I definitely have enough power.
The ProCharger was an after-thought though and the motor doesn't have forged pistons. I plan on pulling it out after January and putting forged internals in it. ProCharger told me I would have a conservative 725HP at the block once I do a pulley swap.

Re: Finally made it out to the track
Sounds like a lot of boost for a non-intercooled car without forged internals. Good luck to you guys, hope nothing breaks.

Re: Finally made it out to the track
Yea, we hope so as well but hes trying to get an intercooler and get more tuning done. The crank kept breaking before at the balancer, kind weird and it was an eagle steel crank.
I would like to see how yours does with some traction and some more boost.
Mine should be in the 11s all motor next year if I get a tire on it that will hook. My best pass was 12.39@111mph on street tires. I got a lil blue bottle that im gonna put in it too 10s here we come.

Re: Finally made it out to the track
Don't you worry. After the forged pistons go in, increasing the boost won't be all I'm doing. The car is already plumbed, wired, and itching for the blue bottle. I put it on the car before the ProCharger, but don't dare use them together YET.
I've got a MSD Timing Retard controller/remote bottle opener installed and just begging for the pistons. I don't know what it will do, but I'm excited.
