Re: Hello from new member
I've had 3 of the rims in storage for over 20 years I obtained in the early 90's from a co-worker. Just recently obtained two more as a package deal off Ebay. It was fairly difficult to match the gold color of the original 3 that had not been exposed to weathering so they were sort of pricey. Also there aren't many gold rims in general available. I like the rims stock color as it goes well with the current paint. I'm planning on keeping the current color in the paint scheme in some way when it's redone.

AG_EET - mine were repainted gold before I got them so doing it again isn't such a big deal.
If you're concerned about faded / not faded looking the same just put one pair on one each side of the car. If they're close only you'll know.

Just find a shade of gold paint you like, mask 'em, and paint 'em all at the same time. After all these years they must have some wear and tear on them anyway, and could probably use a freshening up.

Re: Hello from new member
I see that the header panel has no hole for the (hood) ornament. I always figured the Chevelle didn't have one and the Malibu trim did have one. (?)

Mine was badged Malibu on the fenders and chevelle on the front and back. I have no hood ornament.

Re: Hello from new member
With the '74 Headlight trim and lack of hood ornament, maybe the car was involved in a minor collision early on in life and it was replaced with the parts from '74 Chevelle instead of a '75 Malibu.

Re: Hello from new member
It was in an accident before I bought it...I don't know the extent. One fender is from a blue chevelle. I always thought it wasn't much more than a bad fender bender.
I tried to use a drive through car wash that had no Out of Order sign but was broke and dented the front fenders. Someone dented to hood while I was in Taco Bell that I didn't see till I walked out. All this while I was in college or fresh out and couldn't afford another hit on my insurance or pay for it myself.

It's cool that you hung on to it for all of these years. I like it..my buddies folks had a wagon that color..brings back memories.

Re: Hello from new member
VIN indicates 75 model. I kinda like the 74 look of the headlights. It seems to have been a very basic model. I think I'm lucky it has a 350 instead of a 6 cyl. I probably would have kept my 75 LeMans wagon if it didn't have a V8.
