That's a lot of work in a short amount of time. Best of luck, and keep the progress photos coming!

That's a great project car. Can't wait to see it finished. What color will it be? JB

Thanks, 2012 was when I did the initial tear down, last year was busy and crappy weather. the tedious part will be the shell. lots of metal to replace there.

when its all said and done it will be the two tone; antique white and dark green metallic. when I looked for pictures I didn't see any with that color scheme but it was an option and I think it will look good and unique.

Good progress on that project ! Mine is a '75 also, and I've been at it since 2009.

Looks nice. Thumbs up good luck installing the control arm bushings, and coil springs w/o scratching up the control arm.

Are you gonna run dual exhaust ?  That cross member looks to be a single, with the off-set for the converter.
I see Summit Racing has cross members, but don't know if they have them for our Elcos.

Great progress on yours !! Very Happy
I just bought these rear frame braces for mine, from Global West.....not a good pic though.
Hope to get them on soon.

yea it will be interesting and also a good test of the eastwood extreme chassis paint. Supposed to not chip easily. Figured I'd do the freezer trick and see how that goes, worked in the past on other cars but I wasn't worried about the finish of those cars.

Thanks, its going slowly but steady. I'm gonna run single no converter with a turbo muffler. Either that or side pipes, haven't decided on that till I'm looking at it completed and see what she wants on her.
and when you do get those rear frame braces on get pictures, I looked up the description but I just cant picture where they bolt and how.

If you are referring to side pipe mounting I can awnser that. Each side has two L brackets that you have to mount to the body or frame to support them. (I have mine mounted to the frame)

How do you like those? Do they tend to get in the way of the leg when you get out and how much lower do they hang below the car? And is there a picture of your car with them on, Id love to see how they look.

They are pretty low to the ground (maybe 5 inches)  A muffler shop could make the pipes to go under the frame tighter and the pipes couuld be mounter tighter to the rocker panel.  I like them but it dosn't feel good if you hit a bare leg against them (lol)  The only issue (if you want to call it that) was my daughter used to use them as running boards.

Thanks chevellelaguna. So far the hardest part was the moving of the body, not really looking forward to the move back to work on that part. lol

And I do like the side pipes, I know the feeling of bar leg on hot pipe with my Shadow. How loud are they?

They aren't too loud when idling, but step on it they make some noise.  They are 2 1/2"  glasspacks that dump out three feet from your head so they would be annoying on a long freeway ride.  as a added bonus they act like ground effects and make the car look like it sit's lower than it really does. jocolor

Im not quite at the point of working on the body yet but it was driving me nuts not knowing what was under the panel.
