Header Bolts
What do you guys use? I have such a problem tightening the one above the number 8 plug (last one in back on right side).
The A/C box is in the way and I cant get a wrench on it,I have a shaved down allen bolt in there now with a cut down wrench to work it, but I can see it being trouble in the future and I want to change it.

Re: Header Bolts
I use a combo of bolts...the usual 7/16" bolt heads and a recessed allen head type that I can get in there & use an allen-key to tighten them up. The headers are a pain in the neck to work around with a wrench or socket on about half the bolt-holes- even w/ the engine out of the car-lol.

Re: Header Bolts
I have some stage8 bolts with the locks on them waiting for my new build. Tighten them once and forget it.

The way that pipe is these wont go in straight. The hole is very close to the pipe,I need some thing with a very small head, makes the headers kinda suck. I might take a look at what Joe has. Keep the suggestions coming. Paul is that you in your avatar? HaHa!

Re: Header Bolts
I have regular header bolts, but my car is a factory no a/c car so getting a wrench on isn't a problem.

Yes, that allen key in the middle makes life much easier than trying to use a wrench.
I also like to use the soft aluminum or copper gaskets that "crush" when you tighten them. They conform to any irregularities between the head and the header flange. Much better than the composite/paper type header gaskets.

Re: Header Bolts
I usually double up paper gaskets (two per side) glued together with rtv.
