Another tire question....
I was thinking of using 215/70/15 for the front on 15x7 wheels, and 275/60/15 for the rear on 15x8 wheels. All rims have zero backspacing.
...sorry that's zero OFFSET.
Whaddya guys think?

Re: Another tire question....
I would like 255-55-16 and 275-55-15 better than what you mention, but there are MANY differant combos that will work. JB http://ejelta.com/tiresize/index.html?ws15=1&ws18=1

Re: Another tire question....
Unless you are going for a drag race look, 215's are very skinny looking on our cars. 235's are as small as I ever run on the front of a G3.

OOPS, I meant to say 255-55-15 instead of 255-55-16.JB2wheeler wrote:I would like 255-55-16 and 275-55-15 better than what you mention, but there are MANY differant combos that will work. JB http://ejelta.com/tiresize/index.html?ws15=1&ws18=1

Re: Another tire question....
Thanks guys. I plan to have the front tire stock and the rears a little wider and a little higher and I don't want to run into clearance issues. I already have the rims. They are Ansen sprints;
I want to put bfg radial TA's all around.

Re: Another tire question....
i have 275-60 on all four corners. a 235-70 will be the same height.
i would go with a 225-70 if you want the rake look.
as mentioned the 215 could be to small.

Re: Another tire question....
I love the ansen slotted mags, I just wish I could get a set with a 5.5 inch backspacing. I have a set of 15x10 and a pair of 15x 3.5. But then again, they probably wouldn't look as good if they were tucked in. I'm thinkin like dynchel is I'm starting to really like the idea of old school, similar to what he is doing to his 74.

Re: Another tire question....
Thanks for the props bruisr. I always liked the '70's look ( minus the gaudy paint). I have equipped my '74 with a lot of vintage stuff. The slot
Mags are from '78, I got some legit m/t valve covers, side pipes (come on now besides a camaro what '70's car looks better with side pipes than a G3 Chevelle?) and a cb radio.

Re: Another tire question....
I agree 100 percent! I've always loved sidepipes on our cars. I've been doing a lot of measuring and researching. I will be adding my own set of sidepipes to my 74 later this year,(when the weather isn't so hot). I will be notching the frame and lower rear front quarter panel, so I can keep the ground clearance I want for the stance I plan to have. I'll have to relocate the brake and fuel lines that run inside the frame rails. I will be using 3 in. pipes with the actual exhaust being 2 1/2in. inside the 3 in. I'm currently looking for this, or should I say saving money to buy one like this:

My father has one on his 383! Man it looks so freakin awesome! It performs very well considering!
