tire question Empty tire question

Post by RossK73 Thu May 07, 2015 12:06 pm

This probably has been asked numerous times but here goes again. Will a 275/60-15 work well on the front of a 73? I have normal 8" Corvette rallys now with 225/70-15's. Thanks, Ross

yes, they look like a good fit. I got a price at the local Costco for BFG Radial T/A's for $790 - all in. May go for that as they have great support. Thanx

They fit well on eight inch wide wheels.  I personally like the big and little look.  I run 295/50/15's rear & 215/70/15's front (they are the same side wall height)

Just my .02 but I wouldnt get the BFGs. You can get Coopers for less than $500 shipped http://www.discounttiredirect.com/direct/findTireDetail.do?pc=27890&ar=60&rd=15&cs=275 or Hankooks for just over $400 shipped http://www.discounttiredirect.com/direct/tires/hankook/product/submitProductSize.do?pc=12580&typ=Passenger%2FPerformance&tmn=Ventus+H101

Then getting them mounted and balanced should cost you less than $100

I run mastercraft avengers, owned by cooper. They cost me about $400.00....but I work at a tire store so I get a good deal. Bfg's are over rated especially cuz they don't hookup worth a crap.

you have to Notice His Location as well I believe he is in New Brunswick, Canada (Northern Canada) so He may be limited on what tires they can get there and price of them.

Ditto on the traction limitations.TA's are a great,good-looking highway tire for a comfortable ride but they are severely lacking in traction.I ran them years ago with a pegleg rearend and a 406.(They're great for smokey burnouts though.)LOL!

actually down in the east, Maritimes, but we still have access to all the brands. Just thought they would look more age appropriate as I used to run BFG's back when I had my first 73's in the late 70's. I don't do many burnouts, so the ride is a bit more important for me. Thanks for all the input - cheers!
