ok another poll question better food this time LOL
Thoughts on Original Torq Thrusts
OK, I have been thinking this over for a few days, but can't decide. I can score an original set of Torq Thrusts for dirt cheap to put on the Malibu. They have been sitting in a garage since the 70s & but they are only 14x7s. Should I get them or pass them up? I realize I could make my money back, but I don't want to waste my time if they don't look right. Since I'm riding the fence on this one, what's everyone's thoughts?

Re: Thoughts on Original Torq Thrusts
i had the same exact rim on mine at one time and hated them they were way too small to fit the wheel wells you will hate them, buy them and then resell for profit. unless you can get wide a$$ tires on the back rims AND NO PIC SHOWED UP CEPT THE ONES YOU PHOTO SHOPPED

Re: Thoughts on Original Torq Thrusts
They should show up now. There are some G60s on the back, but I would put some 245 or 255/60s on the back with maybe 215/70s up front? Do you have any actual pics for me to get a better idea? Both of mine were Photoshopped so I have no reference to size.

Re: Thoughts on Original Torq Thrusts
Either pass those wheels up, or buy them to sell them yourself. They're way too small for any 3rd gen A body.
And put some 255/60's on the front. Anything else is pathetic!

That's kind of my thoughts. Right now I have three 15" steelies & one 14" chrome rally. I need something quick, but can't decide if I like these or not. Maybe I'll grow a mullet & stash so I can match the car, ROTFL.

Re: Thoughts on Original Torq Thrusts
Trade here, trade there. These would be traded for a full size truck tool box. I have all kinds of stuff to trade, but with my wedding coming up in August the old lady has put a halt to spending $$$. If I have to make do until I do have some spending money, I got some Nova rallies.

Re: Thoughts on Original Torq Thrusts
What size are your steelies? If they're the 15x7's, those would work nicely, and you could get another for about 50 bucks brand new or 20 bucks from a junkyard.

Re: Thoughts on Original Torq Thrusts
i would just use the nova rallies till you get a set that you will like. i have went thru 6 wheel changes before i got the ones i have now.

but i would trade for the tool box for them for you not see as much cash from selling the tool box as re-selling the rims LOLRago wrote:Trade here, trade there. Re: Thoughts on Original Torq Thrusts
14's don't look bad up front, but the rear could definitely use more tire.
Unfortunately I need to focus on getting some wheels for the 76 before I start on the 73. Hey Dan, weren't you throwing in a fender?

Re: Thoughts on Original Torq Thrusts
Yeah they're 14s, but right now they have some old tires on them that's been on there since at least the 70's. I was going to buy some 255s.
Dang, so does that make 2 yeahs & 1 nay? Where's the poll button? Anyone keeping count?
