Re: interesting laguna
SHE VLLE, cool, even the Grave Digger headlights.
Anyone know this car?
We need more pictures especially the convertible or roadster details.
Any convertible or roadster details would be good...

That Motown Bank Robber Chevelle is cool.
The video is cool too but that guy talks nonstop, even when you thought you were going to hear the car in the tunnel, he just keeps talking........

Re: interesting laguna
Shevelle has to be mostly fiberglass. From the modified Laguna front end, cowl induction hood , side skirts, shaved marker lights , door handles and possible frenched antennas. Also I never noticed the ghost flames before. There has to be more pictures of this out there. I would love to see a side profile (with the roll bar) also the rear has to be modified also considering the front and sides are so heavily modified.

Re: interesting laguna
It looks like it has a fiberglass skirt kit on it from a '70s Camaro.
I would love to build a G3 convertible some day, using a top and mechanisms from some other GM vehicle.
If you measured enough cars, you could find a top that would get you pretty close and then fab to fit.
Something that looks factory installed.
A roadster is too impractical unless you don't care about the car.
The G3 would be a perfect candidate since it’s a full frame; box the channeled section and it's ready to go.

A small roll cage will stiffen up a convertible clone more than anything else. JB

Agreed. That idea's been gnawing at me for some time -- the Monte would make a great convertible. Roadster's nice, but can only be driven in great weather. It shouldn't be too hard to come up with a mechanism that will work. I think the 2nd gen A-bodies were too narrow -- it would be easier to get one from a full-size car and narrow it.
The difficulty as I see it is the opera window area: previous cars all had a larger sized window back there and are sized to fit that -- consequently I have to wonder what mods would have to be made to reach forward enough to get to the side window on our cars.

Re: interesting laguna
There's precedent for roadsters.
I asked this previously a few times, no one's commented but what about a 70-72 Cutlass ragtop with some mods-
the pillars look similar. Like Sam said too- weren't there 70-72 Monte convertables? Or maybe from a larger car & trim it, like a 73 Buick Centurion or an Impala? Caddy had some also...Eldorado?
BTW...I like the SheVelle. If she did all the work herself- I like it even more.

I'm not saying roadsters aren't cool. I'm saying you don't dare go out on an overcast day.
There supposedly was a Monte ragtop in the 70 brochure, but it never materialized as a production model. Any that were done were done as customs using the top and mechanism from the Chevelle.
There's a mid 70's Eldo sitting in a yard near me, and I'm tempted to go take some measurements, but it already looks like the sides will be an issue -- they won't extend far enough forward to reach my side windows because they have the same side and rear quarter window arrangement as the previous generation.

Re: interesting laguna
I'd like on of these for Mali actually. If I ever get enough money- I'd like to get a larger custom one made. (If my roof keeps giving me greif- It might come sooner rather than later). Lights would be put in sail panels & another above the windshield.

Hey Jerry-
Here you go- you can email them on this page. It's a "Ratical Automotive" car, whatever that means.
http://pink73.tripod.com/RATICAL.html
Another pic of the car on this car domain thread too. Nice flames.

Re: interesting laguna
Here is one I missed out on. When I finally had time to check it out, the phone number was disconnected.
I talked to the guy on the phone when it was first posted and he was convinced it was Barrett Jackson Saturday night auction material.
It looked to be some type of coach conversion.
All I wanted was to run a tape measure around it and look at the fit/finish of the conversion.
Anyone seen another one?
