New Member '76 Laguna
I came across this forum awhile back when I was searching for a '75 or '76 Laguna. I recently got a '76 Laguna that you can see on my photobucket page when I'm allowed to post a link.
I'm a member of a couple other forums since I have a '72 El Camino too. But I'm looking for specific info on the '73-'77 cars. I found this on craigslist in Montana and took a chance and had it transported to me in Texas. It is pretty much original not modified in any way, just over 67,000 miles. Came with owners manual, original sales receipt and various other receipts and papers.
I was told it sat for about 19 years and needed some minor work to get it running good. It arrived a little rough but overall in good condition. The body is staight never wrecked, has some small door dings and some very minor rust near rear wells. Paint is oxidized so i'm hoping it can be polished out but overall it looks ok the way it is.
So far I've gotten new tires (which were cracked). And my mechanic has cleaned the carb replaced seeping gaskets in the manifold, valve cover and tranny. New front brakes, plugs, oil, filters, belts, distributor cap and rotor and AC compressor. It runs great now.
I'll post more specific questions as I go along, thanks!

Welcome to the site! Is this the Orange Poly colored one? I had called and talked to the guy myself many months ago. If I remember right, he was selling it on behalf of a lady who had asked him to store it for her? Looked to me like a great project that didn't need much work...but, found same colored '75 Laguna locally.

Yes that is the one. I'm not sure the color name, just thought it was maroon or burgundy. It does have an orange hue but I thought it was from oxidation.

Re: New Member '76 Laguna
Maybe yours is Burgundy. I remember the guy stating it looked more of a maroon color than the orangish color in his photo. Send me the trim tag info on the passenger side cowl and I'll tell you for sure what the factory color was.

Thanks! 3rd gen. El Camino's are my favorite. Back in the late '80's I had a '73 with a '75 Laguna nose on it. So that's why I got one of each now

Welcome!
That is a clean looking Laguna, nice find. I think I saw it up for sale on ebay a while ago. Is it the same one?
Thanks Graham
