Stock Axle Length
Anyone know the stock Axle lengths in our cars with a 8.5" 10 bolt?

Re: Stock Axle Length
Your in luck. My stock 3.42 rear is readily available to measure. It measures 55 inches. That measurement is taken from the backs of both backing plates. I put the tape on the outside edge of the backing plate.
Also, I can tell you that my monte rear is slightly wider than my stock chevelle rear. But you can still easily fit 15x10's with a 4 1/2" offset back there. That's what I'm running.

Re: Stock Axle Length
I was actually looking for the individual Axle length. Seeing conflicting info from a couple manufacturers.
I'm running 5.75" of backspacing on the 20x10's. Full tuck...

Re: Stock Axle Length
The guy I got these from said they were in a GTO (2nd gen) I think, and it had an 8.5" axle.
Then whatever situation changed and he went to use these in another 2nd gen, he couldn't because it had an 8.2" axle.

Re: Stock Axle Length
Thanks for the info. Are you confident that these aftermarket axles are the EXACT same as our stock ones? I ask because I can't change the location of my wheels at all. Even a 1/4" would be a nightmare.

So then we can assume that they are all 30 5/16", as per what Moser states? Sure looks like the 74 axle is. That's good info gentlemen.
