Newbie here from Mass
Hi, thought I'd best post an intro, been lurking here for a few weeks. Just got a 1977 Grand Prix SJ, real nice shape, 59K miles.

Those are actually the sellers pics. I had a 73 Monte Carlo back in the late seventies, nice car, wish I still had it, 350-4, swivel buckets, tach + gauges, dual exhaust, etc. My screen name refers to my other car, a 72 Chevelle SS conv, originally a 350 car, now has a worked 454. I've had this car for almost 25 years. Shown with a little eye candy from a show last fall.

Learned a lot here already, thank you.

Welcome Jim,
This is a cool site and lots of nice people. It is rare to see a old grand prix in that good shape. That is a sweet chevelle. Oh and by the way thanks for the eye candy.

Re: Newbie here from Mass
As far as the World of Wheels, no, been there, done that. Too much aggravation. Probably not even going in, too much rice last time I went.

Re: Newbie here from Mass
I'd like to learn what show that eye candy was at. I agree on World of Wheels. I took my son last year and I can't say there was anything there I couldn't live without seeing. It used to be much, much better.
I think I saw your GP on e-bay...It might have made it in the classified section here? It's nice! Good luck w/ it.

I know you said you posted a picture of your 72 Chevelle, but I can't see it
Lol, j/k. Welcome!
My dad has a 70 Chevelle SS 396 convertible, he's had it 30 years!
Today's UBI.

I agree about the World of Wheels but i've been going since I was a kid with dad so I guess it's a tradition.

Re: Newbie here from Mass
The show was last Sept in RI, just north of Newport, Portsmouth maybe? It was at a place called The Big Dawg Pub. Went there spur of the moment, and was pleasantly surprised to find the photographer and models there. Pulled in, parked, guy comes over "Can we use that car next?". Uh, sure, why not. more pics here77mali wrote:I'd like to learn what show that eye candy was at. I agree on World of Wheels. Good eye, I found the GP on ebay, was the high bidder, but didn't meet sellers reserve. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290685050419
Bought it a couple weeks later outside of Ebay.

Re: Newbie here from Mass
Nice score on the GP Jim. (I tend to "negotiate" on e-bay too). Thanks for the show info. I might check it out, I have relatives not far from there in Bristol.
