Re: blue collar
the wheels are awful, was thinking about the summitt brake kits, also was going to go 3.73s in the el co but im stepping up to a big block so i think 3.42's will do nicely.

Re: blue collar
i have the stock one wheel wonder 2:73 in my 73-454,im going to put the 3:42 posi in it b4 summer if i dont sell it first.
im watching that episode now, they make everything look sooo easy......
they could of changed those wheels, i think they could of saved some money and went with some nice crome buick rally wheels or some GN wheels.

Alright, shoot me.
I like the wheels, they go with the two-tone, Pro-Touring look of the car.
I was surprised the thing wasn't making more HP , was making good torque numbers though.

Re: blue collar
That number sounds about right with how much the car probably still weighs and the fact that they did a factory-ish rebuild on the 455.
I agree that the wheels don't look great. If they were a couple sizes smaller, maybe...

Re: blue collar
Indy, they upgraded it with a new cam, heads, headers, etc. Should have been putting more down than that I would have thought, but what do I know?

I don't remember what exactly they did. I coulda sworn they just did a rebuild with a few standard upgrades for a little bit more power. I also thought that they used stock rebuilt heads and stuff like that, but I don't quite remember that either. At any rate, I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't make as much power as anyone building it to be fast would expect (I think that they mentioned in an episode they built it for cruising anyway). That, and I'm pretty sure they stuck with the Turbo 400 that was in it. Not sure how much that would help quarter mile times.
I will say again that I think the car at least looks alright. I just wish the wheels weren't so huge.

i completely agree with everything you just said, im hoping to do my motor and tranny with my tax money...i would have figured that set up would do better than 13's...maybe low 12s?

I had no idea they had an episode where they put that stuff in. You're right about it not being very cheap anymore...

Re: blue collar
They finished the "budget buld" a while back, then started doing the upgrades.
It's hard to keep up with their projects cuz they jump back and forth on them from one episode to another, and they'll have two new episodes sandwiched between reruns.
