'75 Chevelle station wagon project
Here's pictures of my car after she arrived in town in mid-August. I've made some more changes in the following weeks (unfortunately she is still flat black) and will get those posted as well. The tires have been replaced by proper-sized white-letter tires, the rally wheels are now silver and will soon be replaced by chrome Cragar SuperSport wheels. Floorboards are swiss cheese at the moment; the rust ate through them pretty good.

I like the flat black wagon. I really dig the shaggn waggns. There is a 80 somethin malibu wagon i see once an awhile at my school. She purrs and is runnin some nice flat gray 5 spoke rims. Has a good stance as well. So i am sure with such a good start your car will be a head turner.
Welcome! A great bunch here to chat with.

Re: '75 Chevelle station wagon project
I'm not crazy about the flat black but at least it's all ONE color. 13 years of storage and my poor attempts at body work years ago did not age well. Various colors of blue, primer and discolored clear coat. ick. I'd like to return it to its original baby blue color when money allows.
How does it run? Pretty dang good, considering it has over 150,000 miles on it. It's got a tick when it runs but that's been there since I drove it as a teenager in the late 1980s. With headers, dual exhausts and FlowPro mufflers she makes a nice burble at the stop light. I recently had the carb rebuilt (which made a HUGE difference), new shocks all around and rear springs installed. The handling/cornering improved greatly as a result. Now the floor is being repaired, "new" wheels will go on and then I'll save money over the winter for the dash pad replacement. More pictures to come.

Re: '75 Chevelle station wagon project
This was taken at a car show in Midland, MI towards the end of September. Weather was lousy all day but I managed to get this picture during the brief time the sun was out.

Re: '75 Chevelle station wagon project
This was taken 2-3 weeks ago. Right before I hooked the edge of the garage and put a nice white streak all the way from the wheel well to the bumper and put a nice dent in the side near the marker lamp. D'oh! The car won, though: tore off an 8-foot section of garage door trim.

Re: '75 Chevelle station wagon project
sure does look like a solid nice car, I wonder if that is the stock air cleaner, mine is stock and looks nothing like that. I like the black, and it makes me wonder wether i should paint mine black, although it wouldnt keep it matte.

Re: '75 Chevelle station wagon project
Latest update: found some vintage Cragar S/S wheels on Craigslist. the chrome's pitted and peeling in a few places but it looks good with the overall condition of the car.

Re: '75 Chevelle station wagon project
WOW Too Cool! I really have a station wagon fetish lately but I don't have room for any more projects! I have this fantasy of a 1974 Wagon or Elky painted to match the Laguna as a tow vehicle! A wagon with a 454 would be perfect! Awesome ride man, enjoy!!

Here are some more photos from my project. Mostly dating from summer 2011 and 2012

Door replacement...only took me 20 years!
Back when I was teenager during the winter of 1988 I slid into a tree in my neighborhood and dented the passenger door. I made a few feeble attempts to fill in the dent with Bondo but the repairs never looked good. After many years with an ugly door I was finally able to track down a salvage yard in Greenville, MI that had several third-generation Chevelles. For $200 I took this door from a brown 1974 wagon.
Donor door:
New door is on and still needs some adjustment so it shuts correctly.
The door has been on a year and I sure love not seeing the dent anymore! Adjustment is still off but I'm working on it.

Interior parts color restoration
In early springtime this year I had some paint custom-blended paint made for the hard plastic interior parts. They've survived fairly well but some spots are dry and chalky...guess this stuff wasn't made to last forever.

Re: '75 Chevelle station wagon project
There is a person here in Az. selling a 75 wagon for $2400 or is it $2600. Looks to be in really good condition.
