My 74 Buick Century
This is my 74 Buick Century Luxus. 21000 miles, almost mint condition. I literally found it in a barn almost a year ago in it's present condition. Has the buick 350 - hard to find aftermarket parts for. Winter plans include air ride and a few performance upgrades like an edelbrock carb, cam, headers and exhaust. Does anyone know where I can find window felts and a rear bumper??

Re: My 74 Buick Century
Nice car! What is wrong with the back bumper? If the bumper just needs to be rechromed be very careful who you have do it. Avoid Bumperboyz at all costs. JB

Re: My 74 Buick Century
Try TA performance for motor parts and try Fusicks for your window felts they are the same as a Cutlass, check ebay too.

Re: My 74 Buick Century
My rear bumper has a rust hole in the drivers side about 3 inches wide - don't think it can be repaired! It is the only rust on the entire car! Thank you for the info on the performance parts and window felts!

Re: My 74 Buick Century
Hole in the bumper, or just a hole in the chrome coating? If its a hole in the bumper I am astounded, I have never heard of such a thing and I live in a fairy high rust area. JB

Yes the rust is right through the bumper. I live in manitoba canada - a very high rust area. Not to worry, it's winter driving days are over!

Re: My 74 Buick Century
I believe that 73-77 buick regals and century all had the same rear bumper. Thank you for your help!

Re: My 74 Buick Century
Just got the exhaust in the mail the other day. 2.5 inch mandrel bent Jeg's poor man's special. Too bad headers are about $500USD. Anyone know where to get reasonably priced buick 350 headers?? Got an old 4bbl intake off a 71 buick, now have to decide which carb to use: a holley 1050(it rocked on my 460 ford, except for the fuel mileage), an old holley 750, or a new edelbrock 650. Leaning toward the edelbrock still, fuel economy and ease of tuning speak for itself. Still hunting for a rear bumper and window felts......Anyone out there have them?????????

Re: My 74 Buick Century
Hi Sir,
For your back bumper, I think you're right for the years except for 1973 that is not the same at all.
If you're willing, we can search together for one if you did not found some.
thanks

Re: My 74 Buick Century
Yeah, found a couple 73's with nice bumpers. Too bad the 73 is completely different! I am pretty sure 74-77 are pretty much the same though. Yes I am willing to search! Also, some updated pics to be posted in the next few days.

If you're looking to buy a new carb, I would recommend the Holley Street Avenger 670. It's about 100 times better than the Edelbrock from personal experience. Between 3 friends, we've jacked with 8 Edelbrock's (650/750's) with no luck. In every situation, the Street Avenger took care of business.

Re: My 74 Buick Century
I do like the Holley for more "performance" based applications. IE - racing, towing. For this slowrider I ended up buying an Edelbrock performer 600 with electric choke. It is the perfect carb for my low compression Buick 350 lol! Easy to tune, cheap and trouble free so far!

Re: My 74 Buick Century
I gotta agree. Carter/Edelbrock carbs have always been trouble free for me in the past & I don't plan on changing anytime soon.

Re: My 74 Buick Century
Ok... but have either of you ever had any experience with the Street Avenger line? They are much different than the old Holley's.

Re: My 74 Buick Century
74 Malibu383 - checked out your feature in March's PHR. Awesome car. You really nailed the ideal stance! No I have not yet had a chance to play with the street avenger, all the performance shops around here wanted about $200 more for it over the performer carb so I didn't research it.
