depends on whether or not i have my 73 chevelle put together but for now its a 1969 chevy c20 with a 72 cop motor 350 and either a 1985 international cabover eagle or a 1998 freightliner 26 ft straight truck

Re: Whats your daily ride?
I'm currently looking at my first ride for a daily driver again. It would be waaaay cheaper to drive it than what I've currently got. It's a 1992 S10 that needs some.....work...as in everything...but it's all pretty cheap, and now that I know how to really work on a car, I think it would turn out nice. I'm gonna work towards something like a 300 horsepower 4.3 v6

Re: Whats your daily ride?
Good luck, the 4.3 have some really restrictive heads on them even the later Vortec heads really don't flow all that well (when compared to the 5.7 Vortec heads). But then again it's a V6 so it doesn't really need really high flowing heads. The best things to get for your 4.3 is a pair of Vortec heads and a 4.3 marine intake.IndyG3 wrote:I'm currently looking at my first ride for a daily driver again. Yup. I would pretty much be following the recipe that Hot Rod Magazine made back when they tried to make a high horsepower 4.3. They ended up putting a pretty good sized cam in it, as well as getting a set of Vortec heads and porting the crap out of them. That, along with a TBI setup from a 454 truck from those years should be enough to push it into at least the 300 horsepower range.

Re: Whats your daily ride?
I had a 93 GMC Jimmy S15 4x4 4 door with the CPI 4.3L (just so you know it was a heavy beast, lol). I ported the intake runners, made an EGR restrictor, upgraded the fuel & ignition, & added a 2 1/2" single exhaust with no cat. That thing hauled A$$ for what it was. I smoked not only a TBI shortbed 350 Chevy truck, but later a Vortec 350 Z71.... You'd be surprised at how much power can be put out with little effort. You'd also be surprised at how much misinformation ^^^ is out there discrediting the 4.3L. Yes mine said Vortec on the intake, no it wasn't the same as the late model "real" Vortecs. 96+ 4.3L Vortec motors have THE SAME HEADS as the 5.7L, but 2 cylinders are cut off. Early 93-95 Vortec 4.3s are different. We refer to them as CPI motors. How do I know? I've actually worked on them........

My daily driver..
My DD is a 2002 Trans Am Ram Air WS6 6-speed all black and completely stock. I've had it since new (Oct '01) and have racked up 81,000 miles ---not that I'm happy 'bout THAT ..but, they've been fun miles. With this one being the last of the Birds my 'plan' is to keep it a loooong time so my other plan is to take it off the road as a DD at some point , buy my wife a new something-or-other and take her '05 Envoy as the DD. How I'll do that AND keep the '76 Laguna S3 is yet to be determined --- they say you can't keepem' all but I beg to differ. Now , if I could just figure out how to get a pic of it up on here.....

Wow! The hp/weight ratio is pretty good. Dare I ask this, but how does it stack up against the SS?

Re: Whats your daily ride?
chevelle is faster, but I havent ran the storm at the track to see what itll run. Its hard to get it to launch. I know the butt dyno is pretty impressive, especially with the close ratio trans and 3.83 final gear

I'm selling my 1970 Chevelle because I simply don't have the time to work on it. The body has 28k on it, I took out the 307 that was in it and have a hot washed 350 4 bolt main bored 0.06 over, casting # 3970014 with clean heads and a brand new engine stand that all come with the car. The body is in great shape, with just some surface rust, the tranny is a 2 speed powerglide that has been rebuilt. The interior looks literally next to new and all the chrome is in great condition!
I have the original 307 that came in it, disassembled and misc parts too.
It's been stored in a barn since 79 so it hasn't seen much of the elements, the interior has no sun damage, floors aren't rusted through and are still very solid, carpeting and headliner still looks next to new, all the electrics work including headlights/taillights , original AM/FM radio, it also had working AC and the cars body and the frame are solid, everything is original!!
I would like to restore it when I have the time, but if you offer me the price it's yours!

I'm stayin' away from that car, it has tenticules growing out from under the hood. It might grab me as I walk by and drag me under the hood. Does it run on road kill instead of gasoline? JB

Talk about decked out! That's a nice ride you got there #7.
Also wanted to say that every time I see a 70 Chevelle it brings back many memories. One day I'll buy another one just to sit & stare at for hours, lol.

Re: Whats your daily ride?
This was my first car and daily driver between 2001-2009. Didn't use it much during the winters the last five years, allthough it had spiked tires.
It's a 1977 Caprice Classic, and I still have it. Upgraded the 350 engine with an Edelbrock Performer kit in 2007. Transmission is a TH-350 with
a shift kit.
Since 2010 I've been driving a 1997 Audi A6 diesel stationwagen.

Posted mine a while back, but it was an old picture. I replaced the front bumper since then.
Couple taken the day after I got it:
1998 Monte Carlo LS 3.1 V6. Good little car. I've done a lot of work to it. If the previous owner saw it, he wouldn't recognize it. Click the link if you wanna see more pictures of what I've done to it.
