Re: Woodward Cruise
I have been twice.
You'll see the occasional "street race" light to light. But , cops are pretty harsh on these events.
People on sidewalk 3-6 deep , north and south in certain sections of Woodward.
People throw coolers of water on the street for cars to "spool" up in!
At DARK the place becomes a mad house....plums of smoke can be seen for miles.....from burnouts

Re: Woodward Cruise
For Saturday: I don't usually stop anywhere. I normally make a pass early in the day, starting and the north end and travel as far south as I can manage (8 Mile or 9 Mile rd) and then return. If I can I'll go again later in the day and try a similar pass.
Most of the manufacturers will be set up between 11 Mile and 15 Mile Roads, with another pocket of intense activity around the loop in Pontiac itself.
If there is any way to get out earlier in the week (prior to Saturday) – do it! Formal activities start as much as the week prior, with informal cruisers trickling in earlier than that. I usually start on Monday taking the long way home from work to see what is going on (I drove the Grand Prix to work yesterday). I like being out in the evening the week before because it’s cooler, traffic is flowing, and it more authentically re-creates the cruising experience. Saturday itself will be crazy crazy: weather permitting it will be hot, traffic will be completely locked up and the noise, colors and smells will overwhelm the senses. You might want to leave an escape route open so you can leave for a while, nap, and then return. You might also plan to be done by mid evening; once it starts getting dusky the "squirrels" come out and the tenor of the day changes from a more docile crowd to more smokey burnouts, crazy driving and yelling and such as the alcohol levels rise.

Re: Woodward Cruise
We had a GREAT time! Arrived Friday at noon and hit the street right away till 10pm or so then went again Saturday from 10am till 9 pm when they clpsed the street. We are going to come back we had so much fun. Heard of a car show in Flint on Saturday morning we were going to go to but it said the line up was between 2am and 6am way too early for us. The final count of G3's was around a 20 or so. Many pictures and videos will be posted soon on our youtube channel Americaniron Addict.

The guy in the Ford street rod (@1:51) lives a couple houses down from me.
(LOL) The guy in the blue Pro Street Camaro lives directly across the street from me.
White '63 GP at 9:01 is a friend of mine from the Pontiac club.
I didn't see me anywhere in the background but in my defense I'm a moving target.
Nicely done.

The show in Flint is called "Back to the Bricks" and it's a big one too--I went in 2014 and there must have been 500 cars there, maybe more. The organizers do say that staging begins at 2AM, but when I attended I arrived around 7:30AM and got a spot on the street. BttB has "tune-up parties" in smaller communities around Flint before the big event and a bananas 15-mile cruise along Saginaw Street all week. I was hours from making the trip this year but couldn't get my fuel pump working correctly.
BttB also has a smaller show in Cadillac that's a nice event also--I've been there three times and I'm the only G3 Chevelle there.

Re: Woodward Cruise
Maybe not next year! After some of my club freinds saw the fun we had we should have a group of the Hoosier Chevelle Club there next year.
