Radio delete plates
I'm sure some of these cars came without radios. I was wondering if anyone has seen a delete plate? I have a new bezel to paint and was not interested in putting the stereo back in and I didn't want to leave a open hole in the dash. Anyone know of a place that makes a universal type plate or where I could get one that is original? Thanks.

Re: Radio delete plates
I've never seen any G3 that didn't come without a factory radio to begin with. IIRC, the common practice back in the day was to get the car with the AM radio and upgrade to a premium after-market stereo for much less than the factory premium stereos. In fact, I believe the AM/FM/8-track players were something like $325 and you could get a nice one at the local auto stereo store for half that.

I agree with Mcarlo77. From what I have always been told, if you did not order at least the base radio than you did not get windshield antenna.

The delete plates do exist. Here is one I pulled from a 77 Malibu I parted out.

I found a couple but for Camaros. I may get one and see if I can make it fit.

Radio Delete
Yes, they are real. I bought the plate for my '76 Sprint (top pic) used off eBay over ten years ago.
The second pic is of a radio delete '76 base Malibu.

3 speed no air no radio. What are the odds it has the six cylinder?

The 3 speed was only available with the six in '76-'77 at least

Re: Radio delete plates
The stereos are almost always missing.
They were pretty bad.
Surprise when I find them.

Re: Radio delete plates
If anyone is still looking for a radio delete plate, there is a seller on eBay with a dash bezel who also has a delete plate.
