My engine has an HEI in it now but the original air cleaner doesn't fit. Some might think I'm crazy to go back to points but I'm trying to restore factory original. Its a manual trans L48 (350 4 barrel 73 Ss chevelle).

There are some on ebay but why put a 40+ year old dizzy in your motor unless your going to rebuild it with bearings and all. Get a performance points dizzy and put a black GM cap on it. New if better when we're talking things this old.

Haven't got to the storage yet But I DO KNOW I have the wires set up for points if interested I am sure I have the dizzy just need to make sure its not damaged

Hey Kevin heres the numbers from it and what I decoded it to

1112168 2M1

The #1112168 is the correct casting number for Chevrolet Camaro, Chevelle, Impala, Monte Carlo and Nova V8 Engines. The DATE CODE on this one is 2M1, Making it Dec 1st 1972 Making it a Good piece to have for a 1973 Numbers Matching Restoration.

Sorry guys I should have specified I need a date code that works for my car's production date of September 14th, 1972. Thanks for digging that out Anthony but the search continues.

Ok but I think you are going to hard pressed to find one with that code, That's a pretty specific code to find and for mine to be off only by a few months, But it is your call after all...... I can now toss this one on Ebay with wires Thanks Kevin for making me dig it out I need to get rid of all this stuff anyways LOL

Remember, it doesn't need to be something specific, just made before my car was made. Component date codes can be a few weeks to several months BEFORE a car's production date, but never after.

I have the points distributor out of my 70 L48 Nova.  Its been converted with a pertronix kit.  Its been sitting on the shelf for 2 years. I'm just west of you in Lancaster.

Ps any Chevelle oriented shows happen around us that you might attend or know of? I saw there's a Keystone Chevelle club in PA but they don't have a website.

Use a petronix conversion and loose the points I have it works really good.
