Has anyone seen this movie, TGR? I have not, but sounds like maybe I should!

A bit surprised the Cutlass received all the votes so far, shutting out the MC. Which would you choose!?

The Great Race has been a family favorite ever since we saw it in the theatre in 1965. Great over the top performances by Tony Curtis, Jack Lemon, Peter Falk and Natalie Wood. Many great lines are still quoted by my family even after all these years (..."push the button, Max"; "UP MAAAXX!!"; "I'd like to see the Great Leslie try THAT on for size").

I'm not surprised. No offense meant, but I have never be a fan of the downsized "A" bodies. Remember first seeing them at the Mpls/St. Paul Auto Show and was appalled at what GM had done to the size/styling of what had been very popular cars. Just too drastic of a change from one year to the next for me, I guess.

Cool, Keith! I will take that as an endorsement for me to see it. Sounds great...lol!

No offense taken, nor should any be. I suppose, tho, I should clarify ... I'm not surprised the Cutlass trounced the MC (for the exact reasons you noted!), but I am surprised the MC got no votes. I know a number of people who love that 3rd generation....

I remember the local Chevy dealer sending something to my dad to come and see the new 78 Monte Carlo. I remember him saying they ruined the car when he got back. I had the brochure for years that they gave him. Might still be in the attic. They arent too bad now though. The 81 obviously spruced them right up.

Ha ... many say they ruined the car far more a few years later....
I still have at least 1 brochure for every year 1970-1988.
