cool vintage ad
Probably one of my favorite trucks (I prefer the '67/'68's more, but same generation). Kind of supports the sex sell mentality.

Here's one that very old and very inappropriate (speaking of sex sells!)

Re: cool vintage ad
You know I was watching starsky & hutch last night and they (not main characters) actually used the "n" word twice. I was a bit suprised. The episode was from December 1977.

Re: cool vintage ad
That word was on tv all the time in the 70's. Have you ever seen Roots? They used it a lot. George Jefferson (Sherman Hemsley) used to call white dudes "Honky" all the time on the Jefferson's & referred to any potential offspring of his son's mixed race marriage as "Zebra Babies". That show was hilarious as was another classic- "All in the Family". People make too much of "words" these days. Sticks & stones, etc. Back in school black kids used to call me the "N" word all the time- we never meant it as anything, not like today.

Re: cool vintage ad
Its funny how things change. In the '20's & '30's the news papers should show pictures of dead gangsters. Blood and all.... No one cared. Popeye would be shown beating the crap out if bluto.....no one cared. On Starsky & hutch they would show people smoking joints, and saying the "n" word...no big deal. But now if you say the wrong thing you have to anwser to Al Sharpton (I wouldn't, but everyone else does)

Nothing beats good old fashioned cartoon violence! Pop-Eye, Tom & Jerry, Bugs & Elmer (among others @ Warner Bros!) We never jumped off of a cliff with our Acme Batman outfits expecting to fly- it never worked out for poor old Wile E. Coyote, so we figured it wasn't safe! LOL
People are so uptight these days, we've lost our sense of humor! People used to look at those gangsters and laugh at the pics..."Oh, man he looks like Swiss Cheese"!

Right, while she plays up the Sodom & Gomorrah life style- Tim Tebow is practically run out of the NFL for showing his faith (humbly I might add). In today's world they want you to see bad as good, up as down etc...nothing is as it was even 20 years ago.

Re: cool vintage ad
That Poly-glass ad (for me) exemplifies this: Good tires so the one(s) you love will be safe in a crazy world. Of course some feminazi would construe that as offensive and might see it as such: "So what- women are inferior drivers somehow? We need special tires?"

They should be more concerned about the Torino shes driving. We had one it would have been amazing if that car even started on that rainy night!

VIAGRA, CIALIS, etc... needs to go into the after 10pm time-slot! My 9 yo asked me what "A-reptile-dysfunction" was. I had to be quick on my feet so I said it was to do with what happens to lizards & snakes after they get old!
