Re: 77 grand prix headers
I have the same dilemma, I assume your running a Pontiac engine. I cannot confirm, but have heard that the Heddman PN 28140 will work, again, I haven't gotten the stones to spend 215 bucks on something that "might" work based on other's comments. Summit lists them as fitting 73-74 Grand Prix...

Re: 77 grand prix headers
That part number is designed for Pontiac engines, they are a 3 tube design; where the center cylinders on each head merge into one pipe. If you have ever installed headers on a Pontiac engine, it makes installation much easier. They do however, have a slight impact on flow, but still better than stock log manifolds. Jim Hand mentions the three tube design in his book, I can't remember off hand if it was enough disruption in flow to really make that much of a difference on a street car. Another option, that flows as good (or better depending on the header) are Ram Air manifolds. They are basically factory headers, but are designed to fit without the headache of headers. Ram Air Restorations sell some really nice units and the price is comparable to a quality set of headers, I am strongly considering replacing my stockers with these. Check out this link for more info

Re: 77 grand prix headers
If you ever use those factory style HO (ram air) manifolds for your pontiac, you will never look at headers again........I have a set on my goat, could not be happier.

Re: 77 grand prix headers
I have a set of black Flowtech Headers part # 31170-FLT for Pontiac. They were in the trunk of my 73 Grand Am when I bought it. I won't be using them, if they fit for you let me know, I'll sell 'em for half of whatever catalog price is. On line they are 300.00, Make offer.
