im gonna get this 454 rebuilt
if everything goes right,i will have this 454 as an extra.
from what i've learned from the code
,it is a
CWA 1973 Chevelle 454 250 Mt
http://www.nastyz28.com/gm-chevy-codes/chevy-engine-codes-suffix-13.php
there must be a 73 chevelle 4 speed out there somewhere missing a motor with a part of the vin being 1375000

Re: getting 454 rebuilt
I think the numbers after CWX is 13Z, then 5 and I can't read the rest.
If it was 500000, that would be cool.
The numbers on block/vin are six digits.

Re: getting 454 rebuilt
heres my original 454 pad
so i guess it is 13Z5000 but i cant see any more after the three zeros. but it is a "CWA" not a CWX

Re: getting 454 rebuilt
Wonder what the 13z represents?
That is the great thing about a digital camera; you can get a clear shot, then zoom in and the details will be there to determine the numbers.
Does that block match your vin? Looks like a good one.

Re: getting 454 rebuilt
Cool, it's numbers matching.
So you are rebuilding the non-matching engine?
Was the other block 500000?

Re: getting 454 rebuilt
i bought the monte in 2002 with original 454 and 400 trans,
that motor and trans was being stored at my X brotherinlaws house. and they both wound up missing
in 2006 i traded for this 454. (codes told me it was a 73 MT chevelle) i used it for a couple of years and pulled it.
in 2008 i bought this 454 out of a 75 4door dually, and have been using it since then.
now its time to rebuild one and sell one. since the rarest is the 73 block,i would like to find someone with a 73 chevelle that could use it.
the sad part,is my monte is NOT matching numbers anymore.
