June 2013 hot rod magazine
So I just recieved the June 2013 issue of hot rod. On page 23, there is a article about movie car chase goofs. The comment I didn't care for was referring to the movie drive. Here is the quote: "why would a man who loves driving pick a '73 Laguna as his daily ride?". WTF the author did try to cover their A$$ by adding "cue hate mail from Laguna owners now"

Re: June 2013 hot rod magazine
Whoever wrote that comment doesn't know squat about the 73 Chevelles and has probably never driven one.If you look into the history of GM design you will learn that the suspension was completely re-engineered for the 73 chevelles and was indeed built to be a "Drivers Car". I'm getting damned tired of uninformed fools dissing the 73-77 A-bodies but thats okay because I smoked every one of the "laughing boys" who were stupid enough to challenge me in my street racing days and they arent laughing at 73 Chevelles anymore.

I guess the first name shoulda been a clue...nevertheless SHE should drive a 73 Chevelle sometime so she can form an honest opinion of them.

mmmm! Lets just find some dumb A$$ thing to say and insult some car guys that buy parts from their advertisers. She should go back to writing for her hometown newspaper or Family Circle or whatever she did before-A$$. Go suck a Mopar ballast resistor-freak.

Hot Rod magazine got downright terrible for a long time, but in the last 3 or 4 months has improved considerably. JB

We are a minority in the automotive world. And minorities get picked on. In an era of gas conservation, Gm gave us a great platform to work with. A little heavy and underpowered, kind of a "do it yourself muscle car". I'm offended but understand it. Some people can't look outside the box. If its not a red 69 camaro, theyr'e clueless. If i think its cool, I'll drive the wheels off it. Regrardless of brand.

Exactly, some cars you are gonna like some not so much, that broad is a dingbat though, they need to get rid of her,I bet it was kind of a swipe at Johnny Hunkins for his Laguna.

Re: June 2013 hot rod magazine
The 73-79 Mopar platform (Challenger, Cordoba, Diplomat, etc) were also big heavy cars. IDK the performance spec's compared to the GM A's but apples to apples- I don't see how she can't like a 73 Laguna, compared to similar Mopar's anyway. If she's comparing the drive-ability of a 70 Hemi-cuda, that's another story but I doubt she's ever driven a G3.

Re: June 2013 hot rod magazine
Paul, lets not forget about Chryslers fine lean burn system those cars were equipped with. They didnt freakin run half the time, ask a guy that was a cop in those days. They had to smack the "computer" to make the car start sometimes, and this dingbat has to say something about a Laguna. Like I said,go back to Family circle to write.

Re: June 2013 hot rod magazine
Let's not forget the total turds they put legendary muscle car names on. The volare road runners, Cordoba chargers (and later k car chargers and Daytona. And the worst of the worst, a gallant rebadged as a challenger. Really Chrysler wtf.

Re: June 2013 hot rod magazine
They had some real turds, thats why GM couldnt build cars fast enough and Iaccoca had to ask the gov't for money to save Chrysler.
