I assumed it was a 74. I'll look for more then...might have a few of that one.

I believe Bobbi Allison won the championship in a Chevelle. I also read this was the last car that John Deloreon had direct input on the design and wanted it to handle really good. Hence the coil spring rear suspension as opposed to leaf springs.

Sadly Allison was close & very close but here's a little bit of Nascar history

1974 Richard Petty (Yea!) Dodge Charger (Boo!)

1976 Cale Yarborough Chevrolet Chevelle

Bobby Allison won his only cup in 1983 in a Buick Regal. Sad

When racing was racing! I think in the late 70's though they used the Monte's for short tracks and the Chevelles/Malibu's for speedways. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Knew the Gen 3 Chevelles won some championships, I just had the years and driver wrong.

I do like Petty and Dodge's though. Mopar is my biggest if not first automotive love
