Movie "Drive"
Did anyone else notice the 1973 Chevelle in the trailers of the 2011 movie "DRIVE"?

I saw it too on the commercial... I just told my husband those headlights look like they are from a G3 Chevelle. It was only for a split second but sometimes ya just know, ya know?

1:55 shows a clear shot of the car, but look at 00:39 and 00:54. I believe these are interior shots of the same car. Looks to have a somewhat prominent role in a damn good movie!

Re: Movie "Drive"
Gosling's character is a stuntman by day and getaway driver by night, cruising the darkened streets of an alternately familiar and suddenly dangerous Los Angeles in a 1973 Chevy Malibu. His delivery is so stark and understated that we know nothing about him except what he does. He drives.

The scenes of the the speedway make me laugh. It is Saugus Speedway and is only a few blocks from my house. I drive by it everyday on my way to work. No one even races there anymore, its main purpose now is to house bi-weekly swap meets and once a year, a rather large car show. I've taken my 75 there a couple of times.

Re: Movie "Drive"
Okay, I went and saw the movie, and here's what I think of it....
Bad acting. Horrible dialogue. Boring storyline.
He drove a 73 Chevelle, so that was good to see, but there was no noise from the car... not engine, exhaust, nothing. Except when he T-boned the other car, then there was appropriate noise.
So he T-Bones the other car, at which point I am wincing because he hit the other car hard enough to knock it off the side of a hill and I thought the Chevelle would be totaled, but low and behold, not even a scratch on the bumper.
Final comments: The only reason to see this movie is because we are finally seeing our cars on the big screen. And they didn't wreck it. Other than that, save your money. The movie is a big pile of stinking

It was, but behold the miracles of Hollywood, there was not even a scratch on the '73.

Re: Movie "Drive"
For a movie called drive there wasn't much driving. I think for The 2 hour run time there was like 3 minutes of car scenes. I'm fine with a movie that doesn't have dialoge and focuses on the car scenes but to not have car scenes and no dialogue it was a bust.but the good scenes were good

Re: Movie "Drive"
..and after the '73 T-bones that car and pushes it off the cliff, the headlights are still intact! Our cars are BAD A$$!
Also saw one scene where he's driving along and the tach reads 0 RPM.
This movie was not what I expected. I was hoping for something more along the lines of 1978's "The Driver" with Ryan O'neal & Bruce Dern.
